Winnings! and Siggies

I have won several giveaways since I have been blogging but your friendships have been the best things I have won so far. I just want to say that I appreciate all the compliments and the suggestions and encouragement to my "frustrations" post. I really do appreciate you all taking the time to read my entry. As far as the "Shabby Roses" blocks go, here is what I have decided. I found some charms that I won a while back that I like. So I have started the blocks all over and will show them as soon I get them done. The other two blocks that I showed you in the previous post are going to be tests. Loralynn suggested coloring the roses in with colored pencils. I have done some coloring on fabric with crayons so I think I will try that. Janet suggested finishing them and making a cushion or putting them on a tote. I think I might sew the heart block to a towel and have it for Valentine's day. So I have some ideas thanks to all of you.

Karen over at Selvage Blog was having a giveaway in April. On April 23 my name was drawn and I won a gallon size baggie of selvages from Fabric Square Shop.  As you can see I got a stack of them and they were fun to go through and read what was on each selvage. Thanks Karen and Fabric Square Shop.

Several months ago while I was reading Rose Marie's blog she had a post about siggies. I saw that word and it took me a couple minutes to figure out what it was. Signature blocks. Well, I wanted to be a part of this group so I asked her about it and Rose Marie sent me over to Quilt and Siggies where it all started. I have joined the signature block swap. I have sent out my first bunch the beginning of April and as you can see I have gotten some back. One has come as far away as Iceland and one as close as Panama City, Florida where I once lived. 

I am getting ready to send out some more this next week. I have drawn and colored Pilot Mountain  which is a landmark in my area of the state. I still need to put my name and state on these blocks and then they will be off to different parts of the world.
My husband is off from work this week for a much needed vacation. So if my posts are sparse you will know why. Have a great week.
