While I am working on my giveaway gifts for my one year blog anniversary I would like to show you some of my old treasures that I have acquired. My husband's grandmother gave us this quilt in the late 70's. I was not into quilting and so I did not get any information on the quilt. There is not a label on it and I do not even remember if my husband's grandmother made it or if it was made by some one else in the family. It makes me sad not to know the history of the quilt now that I am a quilter.

Looks like it might be from the 30's or 40's, Carrie judging by the fabrics..although I'm certainly no expert.

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful quilt! I have some quilts left to me by my uncle's family. One of his maternal relatives started home-ec in Missouri and was an avid quilter, but the quilts have no label and I don't know if she did them or someone else. One is a pink, green and white wedding ring quilt...beautiful and quilted by hand!

ReplyDeleteThis is a true treasure...the polka dot binding is my favorite too! I'm always sad when we don't know the history of a quilt too...although it's good to know it is loved and appreciated!
