Folk Art Block

I finished the third block from Folk Art Tribute from Linen Closet Quilts. The fourth block is up on her blog. It is a rooster. This block was done using the needle turn technique. The center of the flower is wool. I have my fabric picked out for the rooster. That is as far as I have gotten.

This weekend is going to be pretty busy. One of the things my husband and I plan to do is travel to the mountains to get a Christmas tree after church tomorrow but the weatherman is predicting snow for our area and the mountains. I guess I will wait and see what tomorrow brings. Have a great weekend.

    Pretty as usual!!! The Creations men when to the tree farm and cut down an 8 footer yesterday. It started snowing just moments ago. Wishing you Christmas-sy weather and a gorgeous tree.

    Carrie, your block turned out so pretty! I am not good at needle turn applique. Maybe I just need more practice. Anyway, I've been saving the folk art blocks and hope to start it after the new year. Hope you are able to get your Christmas tree tomorrow and that it will snow later as you are having fun decorating the tree!

    It started snowin here (Pittsboro) at 11:30 a.m. and is still snowing at 5:00 p.m. Lovely and not too cold (yet).

    Carrie that is lovely - your work is wonderful. Someday I'll have to visit and you can show me how to do needleturn. Be careful tomorrow, I imagine there would be more snow in the mountains - I'll be praying for safe traveling for you!

    How fun!! I remember going every year to chop our tree down too....well not every year because some years it was too snowy to get into the back woods areas. Good Luck!!
