Drum Roll, Please

I finished the Patriotic quilt in the the nick of time. Tonight is my guild meeting and I am ready.

Here is the twill tape that I used for the binding. I really like the way it looks on this quilt.
This past Saturday my husband and I went on a short day trip. With the weather being in the 60's it was nice to get out. While we were out we stopped in a small town that had a quilt shop. Yippee!! She closes at 3pm on Saturdays and I got there at 2:45pm. She had some lovely fabrics and here is what I bought.
The pink fabric with the candies on it is for my calendar quilt. I will use that for Valentine's day. The bright green fabric with the spools on it will also go somewhere on my calendar quilt. The muted green fabric, well, I thought I might be able to use it in the Orange Challenge quilt. I bought the last two yards of the blue and white fabric just because I liked it and it has a tea theme.
Here is one section of it. I thought those of you in the tea swap would like to see this fabric.

Well, it has been a busy weekend and today is going to be busy for me too. I am off to the YMCA. Then I have two appointments and then the guild meeting. So please forgive me for not replying to your comments from the last several days. My plan is to do that and to visit my blogs on Tuesday.

I will talk to you tomorrow and to all my Australian friends I pray that you are not in harms way from the fires I just saw reported on my news channel.

    It's amazing what us quilters can do with 15 minutes in a quilt shop..LOL

    And you are right.. I'm sure everyone in the tea swap clicked on that fabric to see it bigger. It is so interesting! I love it.

    Carrie, I love your patriotic quilt. As an American living in Canada, friends and neighbors have finally gotten used to the red, white and blue throughout my house, and I don't get too many raised eyebrows anymore. Is the quilt for you or do you have other plans for it?

    Hope you had fun at your guild meeting. I love going to mine as the gals are so positive and full of encouragement.

    I love your patriotic quilt! The binding tape is so cute and I love all your fabric choices but especially the tea fabric! It could be a nice base for your applique!

    I'm sure there will be plenty of oooos and aaaahs this evening! Where is the quilt shop? Also....you mentioned tea swap....I think I met a gal working in our book store....that may be in that swap! Unsure...she gave me a card for a quilt shop that she purchased some lovely fabrics from in Mooresville.
