Show and Tell

Here is a photo of what I have been working on lately. This is just a portion of the donation quilt for my quilt guild. I am working on it in sections which is much easier.  I also have a friend helping me with the applique.  I am now working on the middle section and hope to have it all put together in a couple of weeks.  Someone else will do the borders, machine quilting, and binding.

Here is some show and tell from the applique bee from last Thursday. Very beautiful work from these ladies.  The first three photos are from a pattern called Aunt Millie's Garden.  If you want to see some finished versions of this pattern go here. You will be inspired.

This photo is from a Fit to be Framed pattern.
Look close at the pansies. They are counted cross stitch.  Beautiful!
And another name tag finished. Cute! The bee wings are done with silk ribbon.

  9. Absolutely gorgeous Carrie. I'm not a purple person but this definitely could change my mind very easily. Two of my most favorite combinations...little squares and applique. Perfect!

Thanks for sharing this and all the other eye candy as well.

  10. So pretty Carrie. The purple fabric is beautiful. How do you find appliqueing with batik fabric? I have yet to try. Some people say it is hard on the hands.

  22. I always enjoy your "show and tell" time. It's like waiting in a classroom for the teacher to let each student hold up what they've brought to class...only with blogging - it's having all the "eye-candy" at once.
    Thanks, Carrie.

  24. Wow - whomever is the lucky recipient of your donation quilt is going to have an heirloom, Carrie!
I had to immediately email your link to a friend who does incredible cross-stitch so she could see the pansies! I have been trying to get her to collaborate with me on a cross stitch/quilt project! This one is gorgeous!
    Cheers!
