Still Busy!

Still busy! Yes, that's me.  I have been working on a variety of things. This morning I got up, ate my breakfast, put dinner in the crock pot, and went straight up stairs to my sewing room.  The sun was shining and it started out being a beautiful day.  Now as I write this it is cloudy and it very cold with gusty winds blowing.  But back to my sewing. I have been tracing all the BOM onto fabric backgrounds.  If you haven't gotten yours yet,  just click on one of the buttons on my side bar.  I also finished the BOM that I get from our local shop this morning.  This photo is some of the fabric used in the block. I almost hated to cut it up it is so pretty. I will be buying some of that fabric to use when I put my blocks together.
Here are the two blocks for this month.  This block has some of my own fabric in one part of the block because I did not do like that old saying, "Measure twice, cut once." Because I am making two blocks the same I was cutting the red and black fabric for each part at the same time.  Oops! Measured wrong. At least I didn't have to use my handy dandy seam ripper.
I am a member of two guilds in my area. I have not attended the one on the first Monday of the month for various reasons but was able to go last night. I thought I would share some inspiration for you. 

This quilt has each one of the fifty states embroidered on the blocks of this quilt.

    I understand why it was hard to cut those wonderful fabrics! Love them! The photos of the quilts were great too...love the little lambs.

    Brace yourself for a very chilly evening! Brrrrr..... Glad I didn't put out my flowers even though 80's this past weekend! Geez....Mother Nature is undecisive.

    Very pretty and such a variety...2 guilds! You are a busy girl...I think we have the same weather. 44 day with wind chill of 34 degrees.

    We'd never have been able to notice had you not said anything, Carrie. Still looks awesome to me. I probably would have thrown out the mistake and started over.

    I think I'm going to take my camera to our next guild meeting because some of the gals do beautiful work. Great idea Carrie. Thanks.

    Oooo the red fabrics are so yummy!!! I would hate to cut them too. You're suppose to measure twice cut once? I thought that was lumber LOL.

    Carrie - you are definitely my inspiration - putting dinner in the crockpot and sewing all day is the only way to go!
    I'm amazed at how those two blocks look in different fabrics - almost like different patterns! And the embroidered state quilt - my what wonderful work!
