Christmas Through The Year.

Here are some more quilts from the show I attended on Friday. Time to be thinking about the gifts you plan to make for Christmas.

This one is not really for Christmas but with those red fabrics it would look very nice hanging at Christmas time.
I forgot to link up my two newest Christmas gifts I made for my Daughter In Law last month. So I am linking up today. Darlene and Cheryl are hosting this event this year.
Most of you have probably seen both of these gifts. The pillow with a design from Crabapple Hill that was in the Quiltmaker 100 blocks magazine and the table runner made with the design from Regina.
Christmas will be here before you know it. I still have three more pillow covers I want to make. Eeeekkkk! I better get busy.

Quilt Show

Yesterday Mr. P. and I went to a quilt show down in Pinehurst, North Carolina. I can cross this show off my bucket list. The reason I wanted to see this show is because it is held in a barn and I have heard that this guild has some really talented quilters. I was not disappointed.
Before we went to the show Mr. P. took me to this really nice quilt shop, Linderella's Quilt Works. It was so neat, tidy and colorful. They sold some really fun fabrics.

Check out the beams in the barn. The quilt in the foreground was their raffle quilt. No one has called me so I guess I didn't win it.

You can see that the barn had lots of visitors. Some of the spaces where the quilts hung were so crowded that it was hard to get photos.

Here are a few of the quilts. I have many more that I will be sharing with you.

Check out the machine quilting on this pink quilt.
This was the only quilt in the show that I would call modern.

Leafs Me Happy! coming Soon

This next blog hop is coming soon. My day is October 2. Here is a sneak peek of my block. Not the best photo but you get the idea of the beginning of my block. Come back on October 2 to see what I added to the middle of this block.

Afternoon Sewing

Yesterday afternoon I sewed and got a lot accomplished. I finished the third row of the Bee in My Bonnet row along.
As you can see from this stack I had a lot of little squares to sew to the main blocks. When I made the butterflies I drew the lines on the squares.

This time I decided to get my Angler out and use it. This way I did not have to take the time to draw lines. I just laid the little square on the big square, lined up the point with the black line making sure to keep the fabric from shifting and sewed that invisible line. I have the first Angler but there is also an Angler 2. Here is a video that you can watch to see how to use it. Lori from Bee In My Bonnet has mentioned that she uses it. It does save some time.
Oh! phooey! I think I was day dreaming about the quilt show I am going to on Friday. I had to redo three of these. So you do have to pay attention.
I also made the thirteenth and final block for the Blogger's BOM. This blocks was designed by Sarah Fielke. If you go to Jackie's blog you can see all blocks except the last one. Jackie has the blocks on point. Next month she is going to show us how to finish the quilt.
I also worked on getting some of the rows sewn together for the Great Granny Along. I need cut some of the white fabrics to put on the ends. Maybe I can do that today.
Maybe your afternoon can be filled with sewing. I would love to hear what you are working on these days.

Quilt Show

This past Saturday I visited a small quilt show. These are some of my favorite quilts from the show. It was hard to get complete pictures of some of the quilts because the aisles were narrow. I tried to get the ribbons that were won for the quilt in the photo too. Enjoy! Which one is you favorite?

Isn't the border on this blue quilt interesting? I like this quilt a lot.

I will be attending another quilt show on Friday. So I will be sure to take more pictures to show you all.

September is Craft Book Month

Do yo read the Craft Buds Blog? If you don't all month long they have been featuring different bloggers and their crafts. There has been such a variety of crafts made too.
I am linking up my crafts that I made this year from Heart Felt Holidays. If you follow my blog you know how I love to work with wool and felt. I made these little Christmas ornaments and a tea bag filled with lavender from the book.
On the cover of the book you can see some really cute projects you can make for the holidays. The tea bag lavender sachet is  a project made for Mother's Day. There are projects in this book for holidays you wouldn't even think of making like Groundhog day and Martin Luther King day. This book is perfect for those of you who like to make decorations for your home during holidays. There are several projects that you could make for your children or grandchildren for their birthdays or Halloween. If you have not worked with felt before the beginning of the book gives you some felt basics plus diagrams of the embroidery stitches that are used throughout the book. The templates for each project are in the back of the book.

So I am linking up my post with Crafts Buds today.

Slow Stitching Sunday

You know some Sundays can be so busy even though we should use it as a day of rest. Today we had a very busy day at church and then had to come home and water the garden because we haven't had any rain for over a week. I have some fall seedlings growing so I really have to keep them watered. Then I fixed dinner.  Mr. P. and I sat outside to eat it and enjoy the weather.
Kathy started Slow Stitching Sunday which I really look forward to. Just some time to sit and relax. Nice to do after a start to a busy day.
I am slowly stitching on this cute little pattern I won from Heather the Happy Appliquer. She made this pillow pattern for her DIL and I thought if I won this giveaway I would make another pillow cover for my DIL. Well I did win this kit from Heather. Thanks so much Heather for another pillow cover to add to my DIL's collection. If you have not been by Heather's blog you must visit. Her applique is phenomenal. She is working on a basket quilt that I have wanted to make for ages.

I also won the newest book by Jane Sassaman and some of her big print fabrics from Free Spirit Fabrics. The book shows some really great ways to use those  fabrics. I need some ideas for the big prints because I just never know what to do with them.
I hope your Sunday has been an enjoyable and restful day.

The First Day of..

Yay! I did not think Autumn would ever get here but we have been having some much cooler weather. The air is less humid too which I so enjoy.
I finished my Aurifil block for this month which was created by Amy Ellis. I have noticed the Dogwood leaves starting to turn a little red. It won't be long before the trees show the evidence of fall arriving.
Even the tomatoes from the garden speak "fall." Candace shows you how to go about roasting them in case you have an abundance of tomatoes.

Enjoy your first day Autumn!
