I finished my pillow. I appreciate your ideas for finishing it. I did go to Joann craft store to look at the pom pom trim but I did not see any colors that I liked. I did see some trim that was a little lacy that I used and I also made some piping which was also suggested. You can click on it to enlarge it.

The pillow was photographed in
Karen Gray's Shop. I hope to teach beginner applique in January using this pattern I created.

Here are some more photos from her charming shop. These little fabric birds were perched over head on some pipes. The wall hanging that you see is one that I did for her to keep in her shop.

Colorful fabrics...

Lovely quilts.

Your beautiful pillow is so perfect for Karen's shop. It really turned out darling, Carrie.
So pretty! The Amy Butler book I just won reminds me of Karen's shop! I need to get there!
Very nice, Carrie. You did a good job on that pillow, and I think it will attract beginner appliquer's interest. It looks like you'll be teaching in a very pretty shop.
I think that is THE sweetest pillow
Carrie....of course I LOVE birds too!!
Your pillow looks lovely! The piping is just perfect. And what a pretty shop. It would be fun to take your applique class. :0)

cute pillow!
and its a lovely shop, thanks for sharing photos, the birds are really cool and i always love to look at bolts of fabric on shelves in a shop, even if it's just a photo.
Your pillow is darling! I love the pattern. You make an amazing teacher. Wish I lived closer so I could take the class too. The shop looks very pretty. The little birds are too cute.
How darling is that - I LOVE the trim you used, it's perfect and adds the right amount of whimsy! That's going to be a popular class, Carrie. I wish I could come take the class - I'm stuck with machine applique and would love to learn needleturn. But since my fingers don't work as well as they used to, maybe it would be futile.
That's a lovely shop - the small quilt on the wall is darling!
Fabulous job on the pillow, it's baa-ute-e-ful!! and what a nice shop. I do like the ideas of the perching birds.
