I am sure many of you participated in the blog tour that
Quiltmaker Magazine had last year. There was also a contest where you had to name the designer of certain blocks. I did both and completely forgot about the contests because it has been a year. Last month I got an email saying I had won a block which finally arrived.

I won the magazine too which I had bought last year and a block made by Barbara Groves and Mary Jacobson of
Meandmysisterdesigns.com. The block is done so well and all the points match up. Now I guess I will put it on my design wall and think about how I should use it. Any suggestions?
Volume 3 of 100 blocks is going to be on sale around May 10. The next tour will be May 2-6.
With Passion,
Carrie P.

What a nice suprise, Carrie! How about putting a backing, batting and single width binding on it, then do a little hand quilting and place it on a little side table for spring decoration? I'm sure whatever you do with it will be adorable!
Cheers!
That is a sweet treat :-) The block is lovely! Do just what you said...place it on your design wall and see what inspires you to add to it...or add some batting and frame it :-)
Very cute...lucky you. Perhaps a pillow with rick rack or pom pom fringe? :o)
I don't know what you should do with it but definitely something bright and summery. How about a pocket on a tote bag?
What a beautiful block! This would make a great center focal block. I know you will come up with something fabulous :-)
What fun! Congratulations. I have book 2 - never acquired book 1, though. I'll have to be on the lookout for #3!
Congratulations! That is so cool!
Gosh...perfect block for spring time too!
I'm thinking keep it a very simple table topper? Maybe you can had checkerboard border to the top and bottom to "rectangle it?" Of course if you need pillows....Congrats to you!!! Thanks for sharing about the date of the next one...I look forward to them. Heck..last issue had an owl I wanted to make...never did get to it!
Talk about delayed gratification! :P What a happy block though. :)
What a pretty block Carrie, congratulations! I'd probably bind it and hang it as it is.
If anyone can do something great with the block, you could. What a lovely surprise.
Congrats on the win. If you have fabrics to go with it you could make a lap quilt or as others said, just back it & bind it and use as a little table topper :0)
Crispy
Congratulations! I love the bright colors. I'm sure you'll come up with something very creative.
Way to go Carrie!
