Once we got in to Nevada we saw lots of different landscapes again.
I have enjoyed this trip so much because of the different landscapes. I would be sleepy while were driving but would not go to sleep because I didn't want to miss a thing.
Our destination was Wendover, Utah. After traveling on the "Loneliest Road." Really, it had a sign that let us know that we were on a long stretch of road. As you can see we are the only one on it. By the time we got the campsite it was dark. That "lonely road" was also dark and scary when you don't see a car for miles.
Once we set up camp we set up the tent and plopped into our cots. We slept pretty good. Most of these campsites we have camped at have been right next to the interstate. So we have had to really get used hearing semi trucks. A few of the campsites we have also had to deal with train horns at night.Well, I am going to read a few emails before I go to bed.

That last photo looks exactly like the scene from "Forrest Gump," when he was bearded and walking, walking, with people following him, and then he just stopped. He was done. I bet that somewhere on that stretch of road a bit of movie history was made. Thanks for sharing your trip with us.

That 3rd photo is amazing. The US is a wonderfully diverse nation.
I guess this is why I never had a strong urge to visit other countries, there is so much to see in the US. WOW I can't believe how much snow there is. It was the same when we went over the passes on the way to Seattle.

What a lot of driving you've been doing...you've been to so many beautiful places...driving through Nevada can get pretty long, though! What a snow-filled spring it's been, too...safe travels!

Carrie...remind me to tell you the time we drove from Nevada --over the top of Yosemite to get to Southern California! My husband thought it would be quicker and shorter....you may have been on it!

I don't like long scary roads, lol! I remember going up north here in MI to see my uncle in the hospital, it was February and snowing heavily - a regular blizzard - and about the only cars we saw were in ditches. Unoccupied. There were times when I could have been in the twilight zone....
The scenery in your pics is so gorgeous, Carrie, I could put up with the sound of semi's just to see that!

Love all your photos. If you ever come to western South Dakota come to our campground in Hot Springs,SD. It is called Kemo Sabay Campground. We have no highway noise, no big trucks going by, no trains. The only sounds will be the turkeys gobbling on the mountain and the rooster crowing. Enjoy your trip.
