Sleigh Ride

I finished my working with wool project. Isn't it cute? I bought this kit created by Lone Star Mercantile when I attended the craft show at the barn. The kit came with the chenille trim which adds a nice touch to the pillow.

How about a giveaway? I will give someone the pattern along with the freezer paper pieces I made plus a piece of red wool for the star and berries. I will also include a small piece of green wool for the holly leaves. You will have to supply the rest of the fabrics and trim.
If you would like a chance to win this giveaway just tell me if you like snow and what you like about it. If you don't like snow, tell me why.
I will pick one name Friday morning.

What is Christmas with no snow
No white Christmas with no snow
Snow

I'll soon be there with snow
I'll wash my hair with snow
And with a spade of snow
I'll build a man that's made of snow
I'd love to stay up with you but I recommend a little shuteye
Go to sleep
And dream
Of snow

(verse from the movie White Christmas with Bing Crosby)

I always love the first snow, there is always something magic about it. My husband got me new cross country skis, so I hope we get plenty this year. I miss walking in the winter, so cc skiing in the back yard is a great way to get out and get some fresh air.

Oh, Carrie, Your pillow "IS" "very cute". I love it! You did a beautiful job with it, as always your work is wonderful! I always enjoy "snowmen and snow-woman"! You can decorate with them way into the month of February if you wish to! I don't need to be to work today until 12 noon, and was doing a quick skim of my blogging friends. So, I would like to enter your "Giveaway" please.
Do I like snow or not like snow. This is a tricky question because I do "love" snow, but there are times I do not!
I love snow when it is a fresh dry beautiful snow. When you go outside and all is quiet, and you breath in the fresh crisp air it brings! It is wonderfully quiet and clean! You can blow the snow off your mittens! Take long walks and it looks like the snow is a jewel as it sparkles in the snow! It's also easy to shovel.
I also love some of the wet snowfalls. This is when you can go out and make snowmen and snow-caves and all sorts of snow critters and creations! As well as have snowball fights, skiing and sledding!! Wheeeee! But. It is also heavier to shovel and you need to do it quicker before it freezes and gets too heavy.
The really wet heavy snow is the snow I don't like! It is difficult to deal with no matter how you look at it!! It is heavy to shovel, too wet to make snowmen, leads to damaged trees and downed power lines and it turns to ice if there is a heavy freeze!
So, there you have it! I think I love snow more then I hate it. :0)
Happy Holidays to you and your family Carrie!!

What a darling wool pillow. I do love the snow. Here in Colorado with the beautiful blue sky and bright sun the snow sparkles and makes the landscape look like a fairyland. It is still and peaceful. The mountains all covered in their blanket of white with blue sky in the background just makes your heart sing. Thank you for offering the pattern in a giveaway.

I just love the snow! I love the peaceful look of it on a fresh morning! I grew up in the snow, learned to drive during the winter time, wore shorts out in the snow to walk to school....but my hubby hates the snow (it's too cold) so I never get to see the snow anymore. :(

Oh, Carrie, the pillow is adorable. I LOVE it.

I like snow very much but haven't experienced it much in over 20 years. Living in New England and Germany I loved to wake in the morning to fresh fallen snow. Peaceful and serene. And, of course there's nothing like the first snowfall of the year - blissful. :-)

Keeping my fingers crossed. :-)

I live in Canada and it is pretty essential to love snow here! There is nothing better than waking up to a stormy day and knowing you don't have to go anywhere. The heavy falling snow is so beautiful and leaves me feeling peaceful.

I love your pillow, it's very cute! The thing I like most about snow is how it makes everything look so clean & pretty, especially the way it sparkles in the sun. Thanks for the giveaway!!

Oh gosh my golly... I'm a California girl and no snow hardly ever comes to my neighborhood. But one year we had a "sprinkling" that hardly lasted at all. But it was fun to enjoy while we could.

Love the wool pillow project - here's hoping it comes my way to add some "snow" to sunny California.

I grew up in Canada and I guess I liked snow as a kid. But now snow is pretty to look at but I had driving in it, shoveling it and how ugly those grey melting piles look in March. I now live in southern USA and don't miss it at all! My favorite snowmen are made of fabric.

I love to build a snowman! Each one is so unique.
Your pillow turned out so good- I love the trim!! Merry Christmas!!

Darling pillow--I know just who I'd love to make one for! I love snow (as long as I don't have to drive on it). My favorite thing about snow is the quiet afterward, like everyone pauses and looks at the beautiful snow covered trees and houses.

I love to watch snow fall and see it inblemished with footsteps with the moonlight shining over it. I don't like to get out in the snow - my toes get cold and then I am cold all day!

Its a great pillow and I would be happy to win the pattern.

Carrie youdid a lovely job on the pillow, the trim finishes it so nicely.

I'd love a chance to win the pattern, thank you so much for the opportunity.

I love living in the Vancouver where the snow is mainly on the mountains for all to enjoy. But having it down where I live is fun also.

I would have to say that I love the photos of snow.... I've actually only seen snow just once many years ago when it snowed & left just enough on the ground (well, actually it was piled on our windows that had been delivered to the block & left on the ground)... but anyhow, I did get to build a..... snowball sized snowman!!! It was exciting. You may have laughed though as I had socks on my hands to work as mittens - it was a "fun day"!

Sharm said...

Oh, and by the way..... I just LOOOOVE your little pillow! Too cute for words & your tree is looking so pretty..... you actually reminded me of what I have forgotten to pop on our tree this year..... the candy canes! knew I forgot something - it just didn't look right!

I was bummed that I had to miss out on The Barn sale..I just knew they would have some really good patterns and kits.
Your pillow is so dang cute!
Snow...like it when it first falls and is pretty but I have to tell you a few days of it and I'm done! Especially when it has been run over and is dirty yucky and just a mess.

Carrie, this is so cute! You do the neatest projects ever! I love snow and grew up in far Northern California where we got some regularly, but not too much. In Texas where I live now they close schools if it snows enough to cover the windshield on a car since they have no snow removal equipment here... I miss snow :)

Carrie it turned out so beautiful. Thanks for the chance to win the pattern. Hugs

Carrie,

I like snow only when it's snowing - because everything just looks so tranquil. But the day after when the snow turns to ice, or starts to get dirty, my favorable opinion of snow quickly evaporates. :)

Thanks for the giveaway.

That is adorable! I love the chenille around the edge, it sets it off perfectly and looks like snow!

Don't enter me in the give-away though, I can't work with wool. I'll tell you though that I do like snow, if it must be cold, lol, as it brightens up the winter glooms!

Betsy said...

Thank you for the chance Carrie. I have been wanting to make something from wool. I was raised in NYC so snow is lovelyvthere for a little while then it turns to slush. Happy holidays.

Snow is something we only visit (once or twice in a life time) so we think it's pretty. I don't think I would want to love with it though!

I love snow and the magic it brings, but I don't see much of it since moving to SC. We have 8 month old and a 10 week old puppies and I would dearly love to see what they would do if faced with the white stuff. Your pillow is a bit of magic too and I would love to make one. Thanks for the chance, and Merry Christmas!

I have the pattern, Carrie, so no need to include me in the drawing - it's so cute made up! I'd better get busy for next year! I love snow because it gives such a different look to the landscape - clean, fresh and pretty!
Cheers!

Cuteness Ms Carrie! I love your pillow! Snow, well, if its the first snow, it's great, anything after that, well I tend to dislike it because we get so much of it here in Iowa.

Pillow is just gorgeous! I just Love it!!!! Wool is my favorite! Now snow is a whole different story. I guess I like snow on Christmas and I like it in December. But I don't like it any other time of the year. I don't like the cold and I hate driving in snow. So there, Carrie I actually said I liked snow, kind of but that's our little secret. :-) lol!

Carrie, it came out just adorable!! I like fresh snow. It is just beautiful!! And that, my dear, is the only nice thing I can say about snow!! Ha, ha!

Love your wool piece. I love snow on a crisp cool night with stars shining bright to have soft snowflakes falling on your face. I don't like shoveling it however :)

Carrie, your pillow is adorable! I have a love/hate relationship with snow. I love looking at it, but we've had 2 car accidents in it, so I am a bit gun shy when driving. If I could stay home all winter and just admire it from my "nest", I'd be a very happy camper. Unfortunately, we the grocery store is important as we have to eat once in awhile. LOL Thanks for a fun giveaway!

I love that adorable snowman! And would love to make my own. Thanks so much for the giveaway. I like to look at pictures of snow..they're so beautiful. But I can't STAND experiencing it in person! LOL I don't like being COLD and snow means COLD!!

Carrie,
Your pillow is just adorable, love the sleigh.
Snow, it is so pretty and makes you feel like a child. But the reality is you have to get to work in it and that is not always so easy. If it would stay in the mountains and the ski slopes that would be best. I love to build a snowman though so I take it when I get it just fine!!!
Merry Christmas, wishing you all the best this holiday!

We love snow here; just don't get it very often. It snowed on the hills this morning and my children are very disapointed they still have school so no sledging!

I LOVE snow, it just makes our little part of the world slow down, I normally love to hand quilt when its snowing outside, comforting to me! I have lots of wonderful memories as a child playing in the snow for hours. memories of my children baking cookies when they had a snow day, playing board cames and just curling up with a quilt and a good book
thanks for a great giveaway, I happen to love snowmen so would love to make this pillow for our family room

Definitely cute. I am always attracted to snowmen designs and this is no exception. And doing it in wool makes it remind me even more of a type of winter we don't experience where we live.

Super cute! I especially love those little candy canes. :)

I'm definitely NOT a snow person. I'll admit that it is very pretty, but I don't want to do anything other than look at it. From a nice, warm, distance. :P

Love, love, love your pillow Carrie!
I like snow when I get to cross country ski on the lake and enjoy the beauty. The part I don't like is the wind and cold that so often go along with the snow. The older I get, the less I can handle it.

Completely missed this lovely giveaway...but I like snow at midnight. When we used to have horses I used to love to feed or break water at night in the snow. So quiet and calm. I'd sit out there with my favorite mare forever.
