I decided to work on two blocks. So building them in pieces came first. Then comes the sewing.
The pattern for the block on the right gave these directions for making Fast Flying Geese. My first time making them this way. Very accurate. The right hand block was in this magazine. I have all of them since they first starting publishing them. I love looking through them for inspiration and have made several of the blocks from different volumes. There is a blog hop going on right now. You could win the newest volume so check it out here.
Here is the block all done. This one is a donation block that the Modern Triad quilt guild will be using in a quilt. Our challenge for May was to make a donation block using orange.
Here is my newest Blogger's BOM created by MrsSchmenkmanquilts.
And here are all them that I have made so far.
Have you heard of this blog hop going on during July? I am participating and there is room for you too. Read the rules here.

Great show and tell from your addicts.
Awesome blocks Carrie! Love your use of orange! I'll have a happy birthday sewing those blocks together!
Wonderful blocks! Hard to pick a favorite. but your Mrs. Schmenkmanquilt blocks look great!
Seeing all of the blocks you're working on is very inspiring. You make me want to do some piecing!
Ooo. I absolutely love the block you made for your Modern Triad Guild. Looks like you've got "modern" figured out! Glad you tried making Flying Geese that way. I've heard them called "No Waste Flying Geese." It's the best way to make Flying Geese for a star block. Your Blogger's BOM are coming together nicely. Pretty colors.
I love seeing all of your gorgeous blocks, Carrie!
Oh Carrie - what pretty blocks!! You have an amazing eye for colour. :-)

Love your star block. I still have to make my blogger BOM. I'm behind. Your quilt is growing nicely.
That donation block is quite a knockout, the one with the offset inner blocks. I haven't seen that one before and it really caught my eye.
Beautiful blocks Carrie!
Ohhhh very pretty orange block.
Smiles,
Kelly
I have them all, too. I need to get this one.
Beautiful blocks. Your needles must be flying in order to sew up that many blocks.
