The last two weeks have been topsy turvy but I have managed to do a little bit of sewing on some wonderful wool patterns. This first photo isn't wool but the flannel fabrics are called wooly flannels and look like wool. My final Bertie's BOM is finished.
I have joined another wool BOM hosted by
Buttermilk Basin. This is the first block. You can join in too.
I finished two more blocks from a sew along on
Jeni's blog from the Willow. These blocks feature wool and cotton fabrics.
Last Friday I attended a vendor show in Statesville, North Carolina where used to live for ten years. I bought some more wool most of which came from
Shakerwood Woolens. The three pieces on the right came from two other vendors. The bright pieces of wool are for a class I signed up for on
Craftsy.com. It is an embroidery class taught by Sue Spargo. I hope to start the little butterfly wallhanging soon.

Wow! You've been bitten by the Wild and Woolly Bug! Am just loving the projects you've started. Will your Bertie blocks be sewn together, or are they mini quilts? I think I'd like working with wool.
The bird is pretty. I too am doing the BB BOM. I have boxes and boxes of wool I dyed last year and want to use up. Your work is lovely. L
I like how that looks in the woolies, really nice look and I assume you needle turned? You have me rethinking some wool ideas and using my woolies, especially for quilts I use.
Using the script was a great idea for the pineapple.

Hi Carrie, Did you notice at the show that The Cotton Quilt is now selling wool they dye themselves. Very reasonable - I got a couple pieces. They probably won't ever have as many colors as Shakerwood, though. Her range is wonderful. Later, Susan

As always, so pretty. Love the background of the pineapple and little sheep. You scored wonderful goodies. If I ever learned embroidery again, other than being self taught, I'd love to take a Sue Sprago class. Her style is whimsical and colorful.

Yay for all the Berties being finished! I like wool with cotton. . . Think I'll go that route whenever I finally get to start my Woodland Creatures bom. (Don't anybody hold their breath!)
Gorgeous blocks Carrie... combining the wool, cotton, flannel is very effective. I've enrolled in that Craftsy class too :-) I hope there's less topsy-turvey-ness for you in the next little while.

I have never made anything with wool, but after seeing your lovely blocks, it might be something I would like. Your Bertie block is so cute.
