Not Much
I did not feel like working on the binding of the two quilts that I just got back from the long arm quilter but I did feel like finishing this applique block from Linen Closet Quilts. 
I also made two blocks that will be put into quilts for soldiers. You have the whole month of April to make one yourself. Read more about "Just One Star" here. 
Look what I woke up to this morning. Snow and Spring all at the same time. 
It is pretty but I am sure glad we are not getting as much snow as Crispy.

Applique Addicts Show and Tell
I really don't have much to show at this time but I did go to meet with my fellow applique addicts. So I thought I would show a few things they have been working on.
This block was done by Beverly who is teaching this quilt as a BOM at Sew Together. They just started a blog so go by and say hi when you have a minute. I just picked up two quilts from the shop that were machine quilted by Jennifer Webb who is the owner of the shop. I will be working on the binding this weekend. So I should have one to show soon.

And she also finished a quilt. This was a BOM from another quilt shop called Sew Original.

Number 3 block is finished. Here are all three together. I like this quilt more and more as I add blocks.

Silk!
Look at this wonderful pile of silk fabrics. The Dragonfly Quilt shop bought this small amount and thought I might like to give it a try in a pattern and maybe teach a class. Well, I can say that this is some fun fabric to work with. I have never worked with silk before but this amazing. It is so soft and the colors are so pretty as you can see. And guess what?! The silk does not unravel as you cut it and work with it.
Remember the sneak peek from my 30 minute post? Here is the finished silk project. The original pattern was for a wall hanging but I decided to make it into a pillow. All the pieces are ironed on using Steam A Seam lite fusible web. The only sewing I did was the embellishment lines in the flowers and leaves. This patten is designed for raw edge applique and those edges are so nice without little pieces of fabric fraying.
The pattern calls for beads to be added to the center of the flowers. It says to sew or glue them on with fabric glue. That is exactly what I did and beads are on there for good.
