I have been blessed again by winning two more giveaways. This first one is from Mama T Keeps You in Stitches. She was celebrating her one year anniversary and I went over to say Congrats and my name was chosen. This fabric from the Serendipity line from Piece O' Cake. Thanks so much Mama T.
The second giveaway is from Dorothy Baker Designs. She has started a new BOM called "Sweet Nostalgia". She was giving away four gifts and I was one of the four who won! Look at this rainbow of fabric and embroidery floss from Lecien. I have my "Sweet Nostalgia" block traced and so now I am ready to start stitching. It is such a cute block and I can't wait to see the next one. Thank you so very much, Dorothy, for the fabric and floss and for sharing the BOM.

Edit: Several have asked me about the Lecien floss. I have used it and have ordered the floss from Bunny Hill Designs. I like it a lot. To me it has just a little bit more shine to it and doesn't fray as much as other flosses that I have used.

I have finished the Veranda Views quilt that was designed and so generously offered as a free BOM by Cheryl. I am working on the label that she has designed too. You can see it here. Applique Group

Oh, what a glorious day in North Carolina. We had some rain this morning but it has turned into a beautiful windy fall day. The leaves are flying. This morning while it was still a little rainy I headed off to my applique group. Not a whole lot to show but I have a few photos I thought you would like to see.
This is a wool pattern designed by Primitive Gatherings and done by our Fabulous facilitator, Kathleen.
These two photos are blocks done by Marianne. This pattern is from Blackbird Designs.

My Old Treasures

While I am working on my giveaway gifts for my one year blog anniversary I would like to show you some of my old treasures that I have acquired. My husband's grandmother gave us this quilt in the late 70's. I was not into quilting and so I did not get any information on the quilt. There is not a label on it and I do not even remember if my husband's grandmother made it or if it was made by some one else in the family. It makes me sad not to know the history of the quilt now that I am a quilter.

Autumn is Here

Autumn has arrived in North Carolina and I am loving the cooler weather. The Poplar trees are loosing their leaves and the Dogwood leaves are turning red. My chrysanthemums will be blooming soon too.
With falls arrival I have pulled out the decorations and wanted to show these quilts. This first picture is one of my very favorite quilts I have made. I took a stack and whack class in 2005 and this is my version of that technique. The border fabric is what all the center blocks are made from.
Here is a close up of the machine quilting that Judy did on the quilt.

With the left overs from the first quilt I made this one using the same technique but making squares instead of the stars.

My mom is a quilter too and I got a little surprise package in the mail the other day. This pumpkin towel. The towel is sewn onto a pot holder. Pretty cute! Thanks mom!

BIG news! This month is my anniversary month that I started up my blog. I have really enjoyed blogging, visiting other blogs, and making new friends. So I guess you know what that means, a Giveaway!
