Another Sewing Caddy

Look what I whipped up this weekend. I made another sewing caddy on Saturday afternoon. I made this for my future daughter-in-law for Christmas. She doesn't sew but I think a person could use this for a variety of things. I am going to fill the pockets up with little goodies so she will have to search the whole caddy for little surprises.
Some of you might remember this yellow milk glass cup and saucer I found at an antique store this summer. This will be going in the caddy too. You probably figured out that my soon to be DIL likes bright yellow.
So now I need to go shopping for more goodies.

Different projects!

I finished the October block designed by Dorothy Baker. If you haven't gotten the November block, it is now available.
I am caught up with the Vicksburg BOM that Dawn is sharing over at Linen Closet Quilts. The rest of the blocks are applique which I look forward to making.

I am working on getting this quilt bound. I will show the whole thing and tell you story about this quilt when I finish.

Christmas Wish

My Christmas Wish quilt is done. Just in case you have not seen these embroidery blocks before you can go over to Gail Pan's blog and get these patterns. I really enjoyed doing these little blocks.

This quilt will be on its way to my mom who has a December birthday. My mom is a quilter too and I have not ever made her a quilt before. I have made her lots of other crafts but this will be the first quilt.

Some have commented on the border fabric. It is from Moda and it is called Holly Jolly Snowmen. I just got it this year. The gold fabric is new this year too. It is called Christmas Past also by Moda. The other fabrics were from my stash.
Yesterday I spent some time working on getting pieces ready to sew for my baskets blocks that Anne Sutton is doing. As you can see I am behind. I will probably get the pieces ready for the December block when it comes out and then they will have to wait to get stitched until after Christmas.
No, I did not win this magazine but I know a lot of you have. Congratulations! to you all. I just went out to Joanns yesterday and bought my own magazine. Besides all the pieced blocks there are some great applique blocks in this magazine too.

I've got Snail Mail!

As many of you know who live on the the Eastern side of the United States we were dealing with Tropical Storm Ida. We got tons of rain and lots of wind. This is how we spent our Thursday night. Somewhere down the line the power was interrupted probably by a fallen branch and we were without power for awhile. So that meant no internet. So I couldn't read my favorite blogs.

Friday I was busy all day cooking and getting ready to have my oldest son and his wife over for dinner so I did not get on the computer much that day. On Saturday morning I tried to get on the internet but no connection. So my husband called and sat for a half hour talking to someone trying to figure out why we did not have a connection. The person on the phone did figure out the problem was on their end so they were going to send someone out on Sunday afternoon. Now we are hooked up again.

In the mean time since I couldn't read all my favorite blogs I was getting snail mail from them instead. This first photo is from Diane who is a new blogger. I introduced you all to her several weeks ago. She was so sweet to send these lovely goodies to me for introducing her blog to you all. Now that was just so very kind. Thanks so much Diane. Have a great time blogging and I hope you make lots of new friends.
I was blessed at winning another giveaway. This one was from Brenda's. Look at all these fat quarters. These are the most I have ever gotten at one time. They are beautiful. Thanks so much Brenda. I love them all.

Cindy was doing some one day giveaways and I won one of hers too. I just love this pattern. And look at those charms. Very pretty.
And it is looking a little like Christmas too. Cindy also sent one of her cute little ornaments and the deer post it notes. I will need those to jot down the gifts my kids want for Christmas. Thanks so much Cindy for the lovely giveaway.
And one more package came in the mail. My red and aqua disappearing nine patch blocks. Jane was having a swap and I joined. So many different fabrics. It was fun looking through them all. Thanks Jane for letting me join in the fun.
Well, it certainly feels like Christmas with all the packages that came in the mail. Won't be long before it will be time to decorate. Now I am going to catch up on reading my favorite blogs.
