It's Not Easy Being Green!

Does any one remember Kermit the frog from Sesame Street saying that? You can see Kermit singing a song about why it is not easy being green here. When you hear the song you will understand why Kermit is famous for that quote.

It might be hard for Kermit to be green but for me it is one of my favorite colors. Robyn of Daisy Quilts is hosting a colorful Friday. This Friday I thought I would participate.

Quilt Show

I went to another quilt show a couple weekends ago. This first photo is the quilt that the show was selling tickets for a chance to win it.
This quilt was unbelievable. It was made with 1/2" squares. I think there are over 32,000 little squares in this quilt. Amazing!


Here are the little quilts that are from the above photo. True mini quilts hanging from the clothes line. The two outside quilts are about 3" wide.

Surprises!

I just love it when I don't just get bills and junk mail in my mail box. The other day I got two packages the same day. This first photo show a gift from Stephanie. She knew I was looking for this bicycle fabric in this color and she found it and sent it to me. She also sent a bar of soap with lavender oil in it. It smells delightful. Thanks Stephanie for the goodies.

The other package came from a Janet who lives in Canada. She definitely surprised me with this package. Lovely fabrics and fall note cards. She knows me well because look at the little magnets she also sent. Thank you so much Janet for the sweet surprise.

Block Books

On my last post I had shown some blocks that I had made for the exchange that I am participating in this year. I just thought I would share some of the books that I used to get my ideas from.
I have two of these books written by Judy which I really like because as you can see from the inside page you can make the block in different sizes. All the measurements are in the book along with a diagram of how to put the block together.

Here is another book that I like to use when I need nine inch blocks.
This block is pretty good with directions for different size blocks also.
