Leafs Me Happy

It is the first day of the Autumn Hop. I love fall so I will be visiting the blogs during this hop. I hope you will too. A big thanks goes to Cherry our very talented host for this hop and Mdm Samm for heading up all these fun block hops.
Come back tomorrow to see my block plus I am having a giveaway.

And speaking of giveaways, I won this sweet little felt pillow from Cathy of Big Lake Quilter. Her stitches are so perfect. Thanks Cathy!

Enjoy the Leafs Me Happy block hop.

Christmas Through The Year.

Here are some more quilts from the show I attended on Friday. Time to be thinking about the gifts you plan to make for Christmas.

This one is not really for Christmas but with those red fabrics it would look very nice hanging at Christmas time.
I forgot to link up my two newest Christmas gifts I made for my Daughter In Law last month. So I am linking up today. Darlene and Cheryl are hosting this event this year.
Most of you have probably seen both of these gifts. The pillow with a design from Crabapple Hill that was in the Quiltmaker 100 blocks magazine and the table runner made with the design from Regina.
Christmas will be here before you know it. I still have three more pillow covers I want to make. Eeeekkkk! I better get busy.

Quilt Show

Yesterday Mr. P. and I went to a quilt show down in Pinehurst, North Carolina. I can cross this show off my bucket list. The reason I wanted to see this show is because it is held in a barn and I have heard that this guild has some really talented quilters. I was not disappointed.
Before we went to the show Mr. P. took me to this really nice quilt shop, Linderella's Quilt Works. It was so neat, tidy and colorful. They sold some really fun fabrics.

Check out the beams in the barn. The quilt in the foreground was their raffle quilt. No one has called me so I guess I didn't win it.

You can see that the barn had lots of visitors. Some of the spaces where the quilts hung were so crowded that it was hard to get photos.

Here are a few of the quilts. I have many more that I will be sharing with you.

Check out the machine quilting on this pink quilt.
This was the only quilt in the show that I would call modern.

Leafs Me Happy! coming Soon

This next blog hop is coming soon. My day is October 2. Here is a sneak peek of my block. Not the best photo but you get the idea of the beginning of my block. Come back on October 2 to see what I added to the middle of this block.

Afternoon Sewing

Yesterday afternoon I sewed and got a lot accomplished. I finished the third row of the Bee in My Bonnet row along.
As you can see from this stack I had a lot of little squares to sew to the main blocks. When I made the butterflies I drew the lines on the squares.

This time I decided to get my Angler out and use it. This way I did not have to take the time to draw lines. I just laid the little square on the big square, lined up the point with the black line making sure to keep the fabric from shifting and sewed that invisible line. I have the first Angler but there is also an Angler 2. Here is a video that you can watch to see how to use it. Lori from Bee In My Bonnet has mentioned that she uses it. It does save some time.
Oh! phooey! I think I was day dreaming about the quilt show I am going to on Friday. I had to redo three of these. So you do have to pay attention.
I also made the thirteenth and final block for the Blogger's BOM. This blocks was designed by Sarah Fielke. If you go to Jackie's blog you can see all blocks except the last one. Jackie has the blocks on point. Next month she is going to show us how to finish the quilt.
I also worked on getting some of the rows sewn together for the Great Granny Along. I need cut some of the white fabrics to put on the ends. Maybe I can do that today.
Maybe your afternoon can be filled with sewing. I would love to hear what you are working on these days.
