Confetti

As quilters we make a lot of quilts over the years. Do you ever make one and say to yourself, "This is my favorite quilt!"? I have with the newest quilt I made. You see I sometimes test patterns for Stephanie of Loft Creations. This quilt pattern is called Confetti. I had the privilege of testing this pattern recently.  I will admit that I pretty much copied Stephanie's because I just thought it was so cute.

Last year I participated in a 10"square low volume fabric swap. I had been saving these fabrics for just the right pattern. As you can see this was just the right pattern. Didn't Stephanie create a fun pattern?

Here are some close ups of some of the fun fabrics I got in the exchange. Others were given to me and others were in my stash.

This one is really not considered a low volume fabric. If you scroll back up to the finished quilt you will see that I put it in the right hand corner. This fabric is one I bought when Mr. P. and I took a road to trip California in 2012. When I see this fabric it brings back memories of the best trip ever.

I'm Free Motion Quilting

I thought it was time to do the quilting on my hexagon table runner. I visited my friend Laura's pinterest quilting boards. She has some fantastic pins. I drew some hexagons and filled them in with some designs I liked and thought I could do.

It is a little hard to tell but you can see what pattern I chose to do in my hexagons. This pattern was fun to do.

This hexagon table runner was from a summer sew along from Doreen.

Eye Candy from Applique bee

These lovely blocks are from a quilt called Beyond the Cherry Tree.

 Brenda is working on this quilt.

 Beverly made these this block and cute pillow. Both are very pretty for fall. The block is a William Morris pattern. Beverly fused the pieces and is now hand stitching them with a button hole stitch.

 I just love this quilt top made by Bonnie. Such neat fabrics she used for this top.

little frame

I am now caught up with my Kathy Schmitz BOM. This was a quick "frame" to make for this little quilt.

Nothing But UFOs

 Some one slow down this merry-go-round called "life." I sure would like it to slow down for me. This past month has been a blur with not much time in the sewing room. With that being said, you get to see these blocks one more time on my design wall. These are two tops I would like to get together, some day this month!

 My third project is to get a quilt made for a Christmas gift.

So my goal is to at least get the top made this month. I am linking up this project to Melissa's blog for A Lovely Year of Finishes.

With the return of Autumn I thought I would share a few photos with you. I love this one which is the trunk of the Myrtle tree in my front yard.

 Most of the light colored bark has come off the tree. That is some of it laying on the green bush. The truck color goes very well with the Chrysanthemums blooming.

 Here is the last of the Butternut squash from the garden.

 I have planted some vegetables for the fall season. Here are some peas.

 Some lettuce mix.

 My second pumpkin!

 This is the first one. They are small cooking pumpkins. I read somewhere to put panty hose around the pumpkin to keep insects from boring inside of it. Good so far.

 I got a few watermelon even though they are late in the growing season. These are small round ones. I will pick a few of these soon. They didn't grow well this year for some reason. I sure hope they are good inside.

 But I can say that I am the Queen of the bell peppers. They just keep on coming!

 Oh! and look what was in my front yard the other day. A flock of turkeys!
