We are leaving for home this morning. I do have more to share from our trip so come back when you have a minute.
The Arboretum is a great place to have the show. My husband went exploring while I was in the show and then he showed me around. I will share some more pictures of the Arboretum later.
I know you want to see some quilts so here are some of them. This first photo is all I could get of this quilt. It was right at the entrance and it was always crowded with people.
Stare at this one too long and your eyes will start seeing it move.
This was another quilt that stayed crowded with people but here is the fabulous center of the quilt.
We are going to do some more exploring today. Maybe some quilts shops and antiquing, not sure. Please excuse me for not getting back to your comments right away but I will eventually. I have lots more to show later. Now we are off for some breakfast. Have a great weekend where ever you may be.
We took this short pathway to the top and the weather was delightful. 69* and breezy. As we walked up this path you could smell the pine as from a fresh cut Christmas tree. As we came back down the path we stopped at a bench and just sat to enjoy the pine scent.
As you can see there was lots of beautiful wildflowers and mountains.
When we got into Asheville we stopped at a restaurant called the Early Girl Eatery which was recommended by my son who used to live in Asheville. I had chicken with herb gravy, squash casserole and a broccoli salad. It was delicious.
After eating we did a little window shopping.
This window with all the stars is part of a bead store. My daughter loves to make jewelry so I went in and got her some beads and a seahorse charm.
All the colors of the rainbow just like fabric! And speaking of fabric, tomorrow I will try to show you some quilts from the show. So stay tuned.
I am making my hexagon flowers into a charm quilt. I have made two other charm quilts. I thought I would share this wallhanging with you all. I made this in 1999 when I began quilting. One of the local quilt shops had a group of ladies that met to trade 6 inch squares. Being a new quilter I was so excited each time we met to see so many different fabrics.

I stitched them both up on some beige linen. They are the same color even though the pictures look different. Different lighting.
I went searching my local craft store for some trim and couldn't find any that would work so I made some of my own.
Ta! Dah! I used Jenny's bag design as my inspiration and cut it to fit the pillow form I bought. I looked through my vintage buttons and was able to find four matching brown ones to use in the corners. I am really pleased at how it turned out.
With some of the leftovers I made a little lavender sachet adding another vintage button. Thanks so much Jenny for being such an inspiration to me and others.
I just had to show you a picture of the newest bird ornament I bought from Hallmark. I have been collecting them since they came out and finally a Bluebird has been created.
