Invader In My Sewing Room
Yes, there was an invader in my sewing room. My husband had the day off yesterday and he decided he was going to make an apron from a pair of old jeans. So I set the machine up for him. So for the first time ever using the sewing machine he made himself an apron to wear out in his workshop. On the left side of the apron you can see where he added a pocket. He sewed the raw edges and added the apron tails. He was pretty pleased with himself. I was too.

Cool apron idea! He should be proud of himself. Looks like you got more snow than I did. It's amazingwhat a difference a few miles makes.

Well the most impressive part to me is that he didn't make YOU do it. My husband comes up with all kinds of stuff he wants me to make for him but he won't make it. This is definately getting emailed to my husband!
It is so humerous to me that your husband wanted to make his own apron. I am trying to envision him coming into the sewing room saying, "I want to make an apron." It made me smile. Thanks for the great applique tutorials, I like you LOVE applique, and it is nice for others to see that it isn't as hard as they imagine. Thanks!
Good for your husband!! Mine (like Nanettes) wouldn't touch my sewing machine with a 10 foot pole!! He just explains what he wants and wants me to sew it!!

How good of you to let him use your machine...I would almost rather do it myself than let anyone near my machine! (Although I did let my husband use it once after he explained that he HAD taken home ec in junior high)!
I'm with Sherri...I wouldn't let my husband near my machine. Good for Mr. Passion or do we call him Mr. Applique. :o) Glad you're enjoying your snow. Ours has yet to even melt!
Well, he did quite good!!!! I am impressed.
Looks like he is ready for a BBQ, ok maybe he should wait until it warms up a bit.
What a great apron! And how great that your husband did it.
Well I guess he is certainly pleased with himself. Do I hear the inklings of a new career for him? It's lovely.

Great apron for the workshop, he can use it for barbeque-ing too! Looks like we had about the same amount of snow. Love that fabric, I hope you don't have to add much more of it!! :)

That's a really spiffy apron that your husband created. Happy to hear that he is not afraid of the sewing machine (like many men). Seems to me that you may have a another quilting buddy soon! LOL
