Since my elbow has been causing me so much pain I have not been doing much quilting. I will try to do about 15 minutes of hand work and that is about all I can do. Today is my first day with the physical therapist. So let the healing begin.
Today I thought I would share some more signature blocks I have received in the last two weeks. I really look forward to getting my mail each day. Some days there are just bills or junk mail but some days I will have 3 or 4 envelopes from around the world. Enclosed in each envelope is a siggie and either a typed letter or a hand written letter. I love the way one lady wrote about her love of quilting. "I am infected with the virus of quilting and working with fabric is my passion." We are all infected and I don't think any of us want to take antibiotics to make it go away either.

Several months ago
Stephanie sent me this journal that she made as a thank you. So I have decided to put all the letters I receive from the ladies in this journal.

If there is a really neat stamp from their country I keep it too and add it to their letter.

And check out this picture I got this morning. I was upstairs in my sewing room taking a picture of the siggies. I heard my dog barking from inside the house so I looked out the window and saw a mother and baby deer. The mother jumped over the fence but the baby could not. We don't have the fence around the whole yard so I went out there to try to herd the baby out. The mother was making a hissing noise and she was huge and scary but she was in the woods. The baby was crying and going back and forth trying to jump the fence but she just could not jump high enough. I was finally able to get her to a clearing and they were reunited.

Great use for the lovely journal Stephanie made you! And I agree that one of the most wonderful things about blogging is getting to know quilters from all over the world!
Carrie I love the idea of putting the letters or notes you get in the journal.
I am working on my 1st siggie so maybe we too can trqde.
Awww the poor little thing. It's good that you helped them out. I wonder how the little one got in there in the first place....silly momma deer.

You just remembeer to take care of that elbow of yours..dont overdo things!!!! :o)
Its no fun not beeing able to sew!!!! But Someday you can...have fun receiving the siggies!!!
Mama deer are big and scary and can do a lot of damage to a person but they tend to freak out and leave their babies in harm's way. She's lucky to have you as a neighbor to help her baby out. They are sweet little things!
Your siggie swap blocks are all so nice, I really like the way you are keeping the notes in the journal. It's gift was perfect timing to keep your notes in.
Your picture of the baby deer is so precious.
Carrie, what a kind thing for you to get Momma and baby reunited. I'm sure she was just scared. Aren't the babies just beautiful with all their spots?
I sure hope your arm does well with the PT.
Oh we have deer in our back yard too. Poor little one, job well done. I just love your siggi swap, what a very fun time!!
Good luck today!
Your signature blocks are going to be wonderful momentos. Great idea for using the journal. :o)
So happy mother and baby were reunited with your help. We had 3 big deer on my walking path in the neighborhood one day and they were as surprised to see me as I was them.
Carrie - I hope you enjoy PT as much as I did - I always felt so "pampered" the gals were incredibly nice!
Love your siggi blocks - Stephanie's journal is perfect for the letters and stamps!
Wow - now you can add "deer whisperer" to your life's list! I'm sure despite the strange noises they made that mother and baby were ever so grateful!
Cheers!
oh I hope after some therapy you can start increasing your time.
I hope it feels better soon
the baby is sooo cute!
good for you trying to help her find a way into the woods.
I usually can't watch or listen to sad animal stories but thank goodness this one had a happy ending. I was a basket case after watching 'Old yeller'.
I'm still busy with my swap gifts but I hope to get at my siggies by the end of the week. A journal is a great idea so I'm going to keep my eyes open for one.
Good luck with your PT and hope it kicks in quickly.
Hey Carrie,
Trying to get a hold of you but your email bounces back. Are you there?

Hope your elbow settles down soon so you can get back to your creative pursuits! Love the pic of the baby fawn - what a wonderful view of nature you have.
Nice blocks made by talented ladies!
Physical therapy will do wonders for you. Don't overdo it in the meantime.
Cute little baby. Momma was lucky you were around to help!

Carrie, it's good to hear that you are getting therapy for your elbow. Hope you can get back to the things you love real soon. Thank you for the lovely story about the deer and for caring enough to help them the way you did.
Aloha!
How sweet of you to help the deer and little one out. Your signature blocks are so much fun to look at. I just know your elbow will be good as new before long so you can get back to all your crafting.
Carrie, your "siggie" journal will be a wonderful keepsake! I'm so glad you were able to reunite the fawn with it's mother, it must have been so scared!
Good luck with your PT. Hope you're able to get back to your applique, in moderation, soon.
I have had a deer snort before at Go Postal's cabin when we startle it. I never knew they even made noise. I am sure the Mom was relieved to get her baby back....hope your elbow is healed soon.
Carry, I really hope your trip to the PT did wonders for your elbow and you will be back soon to stitching away.
Isn't mail the grandest, love receiving packages.
Oh and Bambi is so cute. Great picture.

That little journal looks like the perfect place to keep those mementos! It is always such fun to go to the mailbox and find something that isn't a bill or junk. And such treats you're receiving, too!
I hope the physical therapy helps the healing along in a quick way. :) Take care!
Hi Carrie... you sweet gentle girl! That mumma dear might have just been hissing to say 'please help'! And, very bravely, you did help :-) Gifty surprises in the mail are sooo special! thank you for my beautiful surprise....
Here's a 'get that elbow mended quickly' hug from me
