I have been busy prepping some pieces for the Wreath of Cherries from Vicksburg BOM. Lots of cherries and leaves. Using the Templar plastic is one of my favorite applique techniques. If you are new to my blog check my sidebar for tutorials.

Carrie..I love to drop by your blog you always have such wonderful applique!! and your workmanship is fabulous..but I do hope you are taking care of that elbow and not doing to much.. hey when do you start your applique club meetings again?? HOpe you are keeping warm
I use a very similar method for my applique. I use freezer paper instead of the templar. I cut the shape, iron it on and then use a bit of spray starch with a cup and paint brush. Ironing the freezer paper on gives me a stable surface on which to iron. I think you have inspired me to get out one of my unfinished projects! I also like the technique you describe, although I've never used the Templar plastic... not enough pieces the same shape. I'm curious about the red mat in the pic... if it's what I think it is, that's genius!

Love the Tisket block and that you used a lighter grey for the scotty instead of black. I also love the white basket, it makes all the other parts just pop.

Carrie I've read your tutorial on templar plastic a couple of times now and have bought some to try. I usually do needle turn but spray starch always looks so much neater I think. blessings, marlene

Your # 9 block looks great! I guess I'm going to have to ask you where you get the templar plastic from. I've tried google without success. It looks like something worth trying. Did you use it with the # 9 block also?
