Valentine Giveaway!

Nope, this is not the giveaway but this is a giveaway I won over at Squash House Quilts. Candace had a "Dreaming of Summer" giveaway and I was one of three winners.
For some reason the picture flipped which I can't figure out why it happens but anyway look what I won. I have been thinking about getting some of these Morgan lap hoops but I don't have to think about it any more because I won several sizes. Look at all the extra goodies Candace sent too. Some very yummy chocolate from her area. Thank you so very much Candace. You have blessed my socks off. This is going to make doing my punch needle so much easier and less strain on my arm. Check out Cathi's post here and you can see the hoop in use. Cathi has taken up punch needle too.
Valentine's Day is coming up this weekend so let's have a giveaway!
Here is what you could win: a lavender sachet I made using some of my vintage buttons, a wooden spool with some vintage rick rack, a vintage hankie, ribbon with hearts on it, a pattern for a table runner or mantle scarf and of course, chocolate.
Just leave a comment by February 11 telling me whether you would rather receive chocolate or flowers for Valentine's Day, if you had to pick one. I will have my daughter draw a name on February 12.
I have also received some awards. One was from Allie. It is the Lemonade Stand Award for showing attitude and gratitude. I am honored Allie that you chose me as one of the recipients. Thank you Allie.
Kim D. gave me this award. Thank you Kim for giving me this award. You make me blush because I am not sure what I have done to deserve either one of these awards.
With this award you are supposed to tell seven interesting things about yourself. I can not thinks of seven things but I will tell you one. It might be interesting and it might not be. I'll let you be the judge.
When I was dating my husband I lived in Florida at that time. As you know my husband is a surfer and he used to skate board too. At that time we lived in Panama City which is in the panhandle of Florida. One day we are at the beach and says to me, "let's jump off the 15 ft. high fishing pier."
I was scared to death but I did it. First and last time!

Thanks again to Allie and Kim D. for the awards. All my regular readers you deserve them too. So feel free to add it to your blog. You all are the best.

Now let me see those comments about chocolate or flowers!

With Passion,
Carrie P.

Love is like swallowing hot chocolate before it has cooled off. It takes you by surprise at first, but keeps you warm for a long time.

I'm so glad you like your lap hoops, Carrie - I know you'll get a lot of enjoyment from them!
Let's see -- you make it very difficult to choose between flowers and chocolate, but I think I'd like to have flowers - they would last longer than chocolate around here!
Cheers!

Hmmm... chocolate or flowers... that's a tough one! I'm going to go with flowers, because I have to be in the "mood" for chocolate, but flowers are always wonderful in my eyes. :)

Congrats on another spiffy giveaway win, too! Those hoops look like they'll definitely come in handy, and what a great array of other goodies. Fun!

Hi! Now that is a tough one: Chocolates or flowers? I must take the Chocolate! Thanks so for sharing!
Love, Linda

Loris said...

Congratulations for your win! How cool is that to receive those hoops you already wanted :-) Candace really had some great items for her readers!
Flowers or chocolates? Well, chocolate is kind of a daily requirement...so I'd have to go with flowers (daisies) to make it special. Thanks for asking :-)

I would have to say chocolate! Unless the flowers were something that could be replanted in my garden like potted tulips! Then I would have to say flowers.
Have a great day!

What a fun win from Candace!! and you deserve the awards!
Oh my the things we do when we are dating!!!
What a fun giveaway, this is easy peasy for me, hands down, chocolate !! I must have some everyday!! thank you for this chance!

Great giveaway! I would definitely choose chocolate. My cats end up eating flowers most of the time.

Tudy said...

I would take the chocolates because you can not eat flowers as much as I like flower too. But chocolate is my pick.

ranette said...

Congrats on the awesome win Carrie....

I'm going to say flowers even though in my heart I'd rather get chocolate because I'm supposed to be off of sugar. It's hard though...lol

Wonderful goodies from Candace. Enjoy!

I've never been a fresh flower type person but I do love milk chocolate so I'd rather receive it. LOL Valentine's Day just passes without notice in my home though because our wedding anniversary is Feb 12. We're about to celebrate our 33rd anniversary. :-)

Great story--and you've been following his lead ever since right?

Generous gifts from Candace and very sweet Valentine treats. FLOWERS!!!

Candace really outdid herself. How thoughtful and I just know you'll get use out of the hoops.

Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate.

And it'd really WONDERFUL to have stawberries covered in Chocolate!! LOL

Oh gosh this is a difficult choice to make. I love flowers without a doubt and would rather receive them while I'm alive so I can enjoy them....rather than later... I always, always tell my husband this. :0) He is good about flower surprises.

Janet said...

I'm glad you won the lap hoops - any way you can take strain off of your arm and still do the things you love is a good thing! I always tell my husband not to buy flowers for Valentine's Day because they're so overpriced at that time. It's our anniversary 2 weeks later and he usually spoils me with some then. Chocolate is always welcome! :0)

KQ Sue said...

Golly! I would be "shock" to get either one! Flowers would be better on losing weight.

Shakerwood said...

Aren't those Morgan hoops just the best? I think I may have to go punch needle right now!

Wonderful gifts!!

Allie said...

Congratulations on the great win!!! You know, I've been thinking of taking up punch needle - and browsed some sites to see what it involved - and one of the suggestions was to put your hoop over a bowl, like a Tupperware bowl, that has a lip on it so the hoop won't slide down. It makes the hoop sit up higher in your lap and reduces fatigue. I'm keeping that tip in mind for when I start!

What a great give-away - flowers, always - chocolate is easy to get around here, lol, but I never see flowers!

You deserve both awards, you know, you have a fabulous blog and a great attitude. I love your story of jumping off the pier - yikes!

Marj said...

Congratulations on your win! If I had to choose between Chocolate and flowers, it would be chocolate, unless the flowers were ones that I could plant and enjoy year after year.

Please include me in the giveaway.
I would prefer flowers. Thank you.

Very lovely gifts to win. I love flowers and chocolate...why can't we have both?

Karen said...

Love the cherries made with the buttons!
I am not a chocolate lover, so you can guess my answer.

mbroider said...

Congratulations on the awards Carrie!

Thanks for the giveaway you are hosting, i would go for flowers dear, if i am to choose, though i love chocolates too.

Jeanette said...

LOVE the little sachet with the cherries!

And for me, I say neither please.

I am allergic to chocolate and I always feel horribly guilty for the money spent on flowers that just die a few days later.

I would rather spend TIME with my Valentine. A quiet dinner, a movie, a trip to the bookstore together.

Mel said...

Lucky (and deserving) you!!

I would LOVE flowers for Valentines - or any day for that matter! I'm trying to remember when the last time I got flowers . . .

I love the button cherries on your sachet!!

I prefer flowers for soooo many reasons, they last longer (I have no self control around chocolate), do not add to my hips, look and smell lovely, and in February here they add MUCH need colour and cheer.

Well, I thought I was onto something and was about to share an idea about why your picture flipped - I see it happen a lot on blogger :-( - but my bright idea fizzled before it made it to the keyboard! :snort:

As for Valentine's Day, it's my anniversary too, so I'm pretty much guaranteed a giftie, even if it's a "Hey honey, look what you got me!" giftie.

I am NOT a chocolate lover. If it's in front of me, I'll eat it (like most other foods!), but I don't squeal like a girl when presented with that heart-shaped box.

Flowers are okay. I love them and the sheer novelty of receiving a bouquet would score a lot of points.

But to be honest, the gift of choice at Chez Babble is a trip to Barnes & Noble. In my world, that's pampering!

Kim said...

Well its hard to choose because flowers are so welcome this time of year in the many days to grayness...and now that I am fat I feel guilty for eating chocolate.....
But give me the chocolate any day for an instant lift to my spirits :0)

thanks for a chance to win :0)

Happy sewing

What an interesting question and a sweet giveaway you've put together.

When I considered flowers or chocolate, I realized that it's easier for me to treat myself to chocolate than to buy flowers, so I would choose to be gifted with flowers.

Jeanne said...

Mmmm. Difficult question to answer, but I guess I would choose flowers at this time of the year.

Flowers or chocolate? I have to say flowers because I am doing the workout routine to make up for the time I couldn't exercise before and after my knee surgery. Thanks for the sweet give away Carrie.
