You are probably wondering what the title means for my post this time. The month before last when I was teaching my applique class one of my students asked if I could teach a Celtic applique class. I said, "Sure." "I even have a sample I could use for the class." All I need to do is finish a little hand quilting and the binding.I actually took a Celtic applique class around 2000 or 2001 and never finished this one. I made another one of these in blue and yellow. Finished it and gave it to my mom.
But now I can say I have a finish and that's one way to get it done by saying you will teach a class.

I would say I have a few finished pieces because of a class I taught! And many parts of the same pattern in different stages in different colorways for the same reason!!
When are you teaching it?
I love Celtic applique and even have a book. I just admire the intricate details. Definitely a good way to finish a project--teach it! Congratulations on finishing your beautiful runner.

I've found that my stacks of UFO's come in extremely handy for my 'technique' classes. All of those exposed backs show the stitching and seam pressing and cutting tips and tricks.
Maybe I shouldn't finish them until I stop teaching???

Teaching a class is a good way to get something finished. I have used that technique before! I like your Celtic design.
That would be pretty motivating. I've always loved the look of Celtic applique, but haven't been brave enough to try it yet. A small project like this would be a great way to give it a shot.
