My daughter brought it home, then Mr. P had it, and now it is my turn. Not the flu but a really bad cold. Mr. P. actually had fever for 4 days and stayed home from work. He never gets sick either. I haven't been sick with a cold in years and I am feeling it. So I am going to stay wrapped up in a quilt with a box of Kleenex next to me and do some hand work. Today will be a good day to watch some videos on
TheQuiltShow.com too.
I finally found an afghan pattern to crochet. I really wanted to make the granny hexagons but I couldn't get them to come out the same size. I guess that will come with more practice. Is it a ripple or a chevron? I guess it depends when you were born because in the 70's it was a ripple afghan. I tried several patterns but I just couldn't grasp some of the directions until I found this simple single crochet pattern
here. I am making a lap size. I am finally starting the repeat. My daughter says it is very retro looking. Not the best picture because of the cloudy rainy weather today. We have even had some sleet. See my new green hook. It is made by Clover. It is so much more comfortable to use than the plain metal ones. I plan to get more sizes too.
I would really like to take a nap but I am afraid if I do I won't sleep tonight so for now I think I will watch some quilt shows.

oh man! sorry to hear you are sick. It is no fun. I hope it is a short episode. I like to watch tv when I'm sick too. It helps pass the time without requiring any energy. The needlework (crochet or otherwise :-) can help too.

I think it is a ripple. I made several in the 70's. hope younfeelmvetter soon. I've had a really bad cold, too. Still sniffling and coughing after 7 days. No fever, though. Take advantage of the time to do some fun hand work!

I hope you feel better soon. I have done a similar afghan and they are so comfortable to use. I like the single crochet because it makes it feel firmer. I hope that made sense. ;)

Get better soon. My MIL uses those crochet hooks, and so does the Grandma in law and she is 94 and loves them. Good job on the throw. I love doing chevrons.

Sorry to read you are not feeling well. Hope you are better by now. I like your ripple afghan. I most try those new design hooks. As I age, my hands need all the help they can get for the comfort of use of tools.
I hope you are starting to feel better. Is that an ergonomic hook? How does it feel in your hands? I keep wanting to get back into knitting and crocheting but I'm so afraid it would be very painful...
Definitely a ripple pattern. Though if it were a quilt, I'd call it a chevron. Go figure! :P
