I am ready for springtime to be over. NO, NO, I am kidding. I love springtime but I have been super busy out in the yard since my last post. We have not put pine needles around in the plant beds for almost 2 years. They were looking pretty bad. We bought 65 bales and I have been busy putting them out in the beds. Just finished this weekend.
In between putting the pine needles in the yard I have attended two quilt groups. This is the next block I need to make from the local $5 quilt BOM.
These are the next two blocks I will make for Modern Quilt Therapy group.
I did pick out and cut fabric for flying geese and...
got some other pieces ready to sew together.
I also got some fabric and plastic pattern pieces cut out for a workshop I am going to go to tomorrow.
Mary Sorensen is speaking to our guild tonight and she will be teaching a needle turn hand applique class tomorrow. I am looking forward to learning new techniques.

I put pine needles around my blueberries they are suppose to make the soil more acidic. You have lots going on. Love the $5 block.
Spring is definitely a busy time for dedicated gardeners like you! Little Bear and I just attempted to plant some carrots. We'll see how it goes...

I remember the pine straw bales from when we lived in South Carolina. We had to keep making trips to purchase more bales as we had no idea how much we would need. Large yard then. Next time, we had the lawn mower man purchase and spread. Lots of work.

Lucky you having Mary Sorenson come to your guild. I took a class from her a few years back and can tell you that not only is she an amazing artist, she is funny!

Wow! You have been busy even though you are babysitting a grandchild. I have been out of Blogland for a while. Hopefully I will get back on schedule soon. I cruised through a few of your previous posts and am absolutely amazed at all that you accomplish. Keep up the good work!

I am LOVING those Modern Quilt Therapy blocks, Carrie! Wish I lived near enough to join that group with you. I used to equate "modern quilting" with "super-easy-wonky-don't-bother-with-accuracy," but I get excited when I see modern color and fabric choices combined with challenging traditional block styles.

Always fun to see what you are up to Carrie! Mary Sorenson came to our Guild several years ago and I learned to truly do needleturn well and enjoy it. I would never have believed it LOL!!!
