So the month of June is in the past! All I have to show for sewing for the whole month are these parts to a block. You might recall that my in-laws from Illinois moved down here to North Carolina. They stayed with us for five weeks. They found a retirement home five miles from us that theyliked. They were all moved in on Father's day. I have been busy getting my house back in order. I hope this month will allow me to sew more.
When I wasn't busy helping my in-laws getting settled or taking care of my grandson you could find me out in the garden. The blueberries started getting ripe last week.
Even though this photo is a little blurry you might be able to tell there is a hawk on the post.
My daughter-in-law said I could give my grandson his first haircut. Here is the before and after photos. Isn't that just the cutest little guy you have ever seen? :0)
Sort of quilt related. I visited a nearby town and these hexies were painted on the street. I thought you would enjoy this photo.
Now that things are slowing down a bit, I hope to start sewing some more. I have two quilts I want to finish soon. My name is on my long arm quilter's list for September. Before you know it that month will be here. I hope to start visiting your blogs more often too. I have missed reading them all.

You've been busy! Your produce looks wonderful. I love eating fresh veggies from the produce stand instead of that tasteless stuff from the grocery store. Your hawk is doing a very good job. And your little guy is Adorable!!!
The veges look wonderful...oh, what I would give to be able to grow fresh vegetables. I'm hoping to try some container gardening when I have more time...you know, cut back on the full-time job :)

It does sound like you have been busy Carrie. Your in-laws will have appreciated you sharing your home with them. The garden looks like it is doing deliciously well, you certainly seem to have green fingers. Your gs looks like such a cutie!

So glad your in laws were able to find a place they liked nearby. They must be enjoying being near your sweet little grandson! He's a doll, esp. with his new little haircut! Carrie, your harvest is amazing. I'm envious. I stopped gardening when I moved up to the island. The environment is just too harsh. I am, however, sitting at my kitchen table, watching two eagles out the front window. Guess sometimes we just have to trade things off! XO
Welcome back Carrie. I too have been slow to keep up with blogging this summer and I don't have the excuse you did. Your grandson is certainly the happiest and cutest little guy that I've seen in a very long time. You did a great job and I think he likes it too.! Be watching your snail mail for a pkg. from me. Life Happens! Glad things are calmer in your neck of the woods. YES, your grandson is THE cutest!!! :o) I love seeing your garden harvest. It's been so wet here the tomato plants aren't doing well and the bottom branches are just rotting off the plant. I can say I haven't had to do much watering! Happy Sewing.
