Last week while I was reading my blog list I stopped at Karen's . She is very talented and I enjoy her blog very much.
She has started something called "One Flower Wednesday." The only requirement is to make one flower each Wednesday and to post my progress at least once a month. I thought, "I can do that!" so I joined the group.
I started my Grandmothers Flower Garden several years ago and have been thinking about getting it out again and Karen's post was my incentive.
My quilt is actually a charm quilt which means that every "petal and leaf" is made from a different fabric. You can see from these two photos that I have more flowers started and I have a pile of "charms" to work with.
I am really excited to have this out of the UFO pile! Now let's see what I can do with the flowers that have I have started.I will be top stitching the sewing caddies this afternoon and will do a post tomorrow. I am off to hang out with my quilting bee.

I just visited Karen's blog and asked if I could join, I have 21 flowers done and need 70-some. (Been going on 2 years now). I need a push, thanks for telling us about it. Everytime I go into my sewing room I can feel that bag on flowers look at me reproachfully.
Sometimes we need a gentle nudge to get us to deal with our UFOs. Your scrappy flowers are lovely!
Flower Garden is one of my favorites. I will be excited to watch yours grow. What a great project and I love how scrappy it is. I have some blocks somewhere that I started hand peicing years ago....think I need to dig them out.
Hi Carrie, Your pics have inspired me to have a go and join in on this garden party. I've not done paper piecing before, so it could be very interesting LOL Any tips or help would be soooooo welcome right about now.
The perfect thing to get you going on your UFO. I always feel good about the finish line. This will be such a pretty garden when it's finished.

One of the gals in my guild made a GFG charm quilt and it turned out spectacularly. I've no doubt that yours will as well, Carrie just seeing the little bit that you've shown us.
