Quilt Around the World

I was going to show you my tree all decorated but I have been very frustrated today. I won't bore you with the details but it involves the lights on the tree. No lights yet which means no decorations. Hopefully tonight the tree will be dressed up for Christmas.
Instead of my tree I will show you a block I made for Jane who is the hostess of the Quilt Around the World blocks. I finally got hers. I saw the above photo in last years Quiltmaker's 100 blocks magazine. It was very intriguing to me so I thought I would make it for Jane using Christmas fabrics.
These are the other blocks that have been made for Jane by ladies from around the world. It is going to be a great quilt when it is finished.
And look what I won from Bunny Hill Designs. Anne had a giveaway for these tiny squares of Lily and Will II for Moda. Aren't they sweet and she also sent some taffy. Thanks so much Anne!

With Passion,
Carrie P.

Advent reading for today is Isaiah 11:1-10.

I hope your light problem is resolved Carrie! Yes it is VERY frustrating. I really love that block - is it pieced? Applique? I can't tell! I love the colors, you're right, that's going to be a spectacular quilt when she's done. Congrats on your win - that fabric is very sweet! I love her stuff.

Oh, what a yum-yum-yummy block! I've always loved Winding Ways anyway, but you've really stepped it up with that block. Good job!

Now, as for the lights? I'm sorry for your frustration. I get to decorate the tree every other year because I'm so persnickety about it, I don't let anyone else touch it. On the alternate years, Mr. W. decorates and I just stay out of the way!

What a really fantastic block. Love the colors and fabrics you used for Jane. Sorry for your "tree" trouble. I'm so happy you won fron Bunny Tales.

WOW beautiful block!! I'm assuming none of the lights are working.....How is it that the lights worked just fine when you pack them up and then mysteriously won't the following year?

What a lovely win!! Gotta love taffy, the best sweets out there :0)

Those blocks are so wonderful!! Yipee for the win very sweet. I had my own light drama on our prelit tree. The middle wasn't lighting. Went to bed frustrated and when I woke up turned the tree on and they worked! Good lucky with yours.
