I have been doing a little bit of applique and you know what? I would rather do that then cause the tendinitis in my elbow to flare up again. That is what has happened again I think from having to go through the word verification on blogs. I don't use my blog to complain but I am really tired of the word verification and I am not the only one. I feel the same way as Karen and Lori about this. I tried recently to do the word verification on a blog six times before I finally gave up. I am to the point where I will just not leave a comment because of the word verification. If you find less comments on your blog that might be the reason because others are tired of it too. Consider turning it off and if you get lots of spam then turn it back on. At the end of Lori's post she shares how to turn it off. You might not even know you have it on. When blogger changed to the new interface, word verification was on my blog. Someone told me about it and I turned it off. I follow a lot of blogs. I enjoy reading and commenting but I want to save my elbow so that I can do applique and embroidery.
Okay, I am done. Have a great weekend.
With Passion,
Carrie P.

Absolutely agree...It has been more difficult lately to leave comments..thank you for addressing the problem. I will have to check to make sure it is not on mine...Have a relaxing weekend!
I HEARTILY concur, Carrie, and am considering giving up commenting on blogs that have it - I think I'll do a post too. Your applique looks lovely - I hope your elbow is ok, hon!
Hi Carrie - I agree, more than 2 tries is frustrating to say the least - and time wasting!! I would much rather see your appliqué - and spend time on mine! Have a nice weekend!
I'm with you 100%, Carrie. I will try it once. If it doesn't work, I just say, "Oh, well" and move on. I haven't had any spam since I turned mine off months ago.
I so agree!!! I have been tempted to say something on my blog, too, but haven't yet.
I get zero spam and haven't use word verification in a long, long time.
Totally agree. I use my phone more than my computer now and getting past the word verification is even harder I love to get comments so turned mine off years ago!
I agree with you!! It took me 4 tries to leave a post. That would have been my last try if it hadn't worked ( I guess I have less patience than you ;) ).
Totally with you on this! Hope the word gets out and bloggers remove it...or at least maybe blogger and the other blogging sites..make the word verification at least readable.
Sorry you are dealing with tendonitis Carrie! Any consolation... I LOVE your applique' work! ;)
I agree TOTALLY with the word verification issue. Took that option off my blog a long time ago!
I wanted to leave a comment today on a blog, and had to do a word verification. Normally, they aren't too bad to see. This was one blurred and the letters were like on top of each other. I tried a couple of times. Then thought, okay, I'll do the sound bit. Even worse. After about the 5th try, it finally took my attempt. Can't stand them.
know what you mean! with me, it's my eye muscles ... i'm older, my eyesight itself is o.k., it's the muscle to focus that tires and can't take the strain.
I have given up leaving comments on blogs too because of that word verification. I hope your elbow gets better soon.
I so agree Carrie! And if people are getting spam they just have to turn off Allow anonymous comments.
I agree....done with word verification!!!!
I agree too. After 3 tries I give up and move on. I turned mine off a while ago and have had no problems with spam either.
Applique?.....yes please!!!
I agree, it took me 4 tries to leave a comment the other day on a blog, very very frustrating!
Always, Queenie Believe has always been a verification free zone.
I figure my blog trys to be far, far away from the mundane and jumping through all those hoops to comment would be petting my follower's fur the wrong way. Life's too short to verify -lol-
Have a better day.
Always, Queenie
Ditto! I turned mine off during a blog hop and I'm glad I did!
Completely with you on this topic. I have a terrible time making out those letters when they are all smushed together. 3 times is my limit, then I give up. Sad, really.
I agree 100%. I usually don't even try to leave a comment if I see it on. It's just not worth the time and headache.
It is so hard and frustrating to have to figure out this "words." I also give up.
But do you know that when you do this, you are actually solving a problem for scanned works that are being prepared for release?
All these classics books and documents are now available faster (and free) because "we" are doing the words for them.
Love your blog.
I totally agree Carrie, I thought it was just me but lately I have been having a terrible time reading the verification codes and after 3 or 4 times I just give up on leaving a comment.
I took verification off and turned moderation on so if there is anything offensive or spam, I just delete it. I hate the word verification.
Some of my favourite blogs still have word verification! I wish they didn't. I turned mine off months ago and all my spam has been detected by Blogger!
Oh, I know what you mean! It took 7 tries on one blog yesterday - I can't believe I kept at it! I wouldn't mind if you could read the words. I've never had it on my blog and think I've only gotten one spam in 2-1/2 years of blogging. One blogger has addition for word verification - I actually like that one - LOL!
I sure understand your complaint! I turned off my word verification and within a day was receiving spam. I'm sorry I had to turn on WV again.
Thanks for letting us know about that. I have trouble leaving comments, too. And I hardly ever get a comment. I wondered why. I'll try turning WV off! Thanks.
Yep, I find most of them impossible to read!
I also hate the word verification! I guess I'm not the only one with "Quilter's" elbow.
