I thought it was time for Mr. P. to have a new quilt. When I started quilting I took a class to learn how to make a reversible quilt as you go quilt. This is the quilt which is about 10 years old. Nothing wrong with it but I want to make him a new one.
I participated in swap on Flickr. The swap was for 10 inch squares of masculine fabrics. I did this swap a couple months ago and the fabric sat waiting for the right pattern. The three fabrics on top are some I bought and added to that stack.

Dawn Heese's blog and she mentioned she was going to do a block a week from October 1 through December 17. The blocks are on
Henry Glass Fabrics each Monday. They are promoting a new line of fabric that Dawn has created (Best Wishes) which is very pretty but I thought I would use my 10" squares.
So here is block number 1.

And block number 3 that came out this past Monday.
Of course, I won't have it finished by Christmas but Mr. P. has a birthday in February and I my plan is to give it to him then. It is a secret so don't tell!
I thought I would show some fall photos just for fun. So pretty.
Have a great weekend. I will spending Saturday in the garden cleaning up the plants that have died. I will also be planting garlic. Sunday I hope to be able to do some
Slow Stitching.

Those blocks you did of Dawns' look great in those fabric, I keep waiting for an appliqued one to pop up, lol. Have you ever met her? She so cute, friendly and helpful! She lives in the opposite direction from me about 50-60 miles but there's a few quilt stores between us in the area so she's around once in awhile. I haven't taken any classes from her but those who have, love them and her. She's full of information about all sorts of quilty things, and pattern things. I've talked to her a couple of times about stuff like that. Will be fun watching mrP's quilt in process! :) the nuts and bolts are great!!
Love the blocks. I'm making my husband a quilt for Christmas too and if I don't
get moving it will be a March birthday gift.
Pretty mums, it looks like it will be a perfect weekend, I'll be in the garden too.

An interesting fabric swap. Masculine look fabrics. Never gave it a thought to have that for a themed fabric swap. Your blocks do look very masculine.

We have had lovely gardening weather here today, too.
Handsome. I remember planting garlic in California for the first time ever. The flower are so pretty. I cut them and put them in a vase indoors. Came home later and my entire house smelled of garlic! Lesson learned.
