Yesterday I went to a workshop that my guild hosted. I worked on an embroidery piece. I learned about a new product called Transfer Eze. See the black lines? You put this product through your printer on this washable sticky stuff. The sticky stuff is on a piece of paper that you peel off and press onto the fabric. You stitch on the black line through the sticky stuff. When you are done you put in a bowl of water and swish it around. It would be a great product to use if you were stitching that same design over and over again so you didn't have to trace it so many times. Even though I keep saying it is sticky stuff it is not hard to needle through. If you decide to try this product you have to have a certain type of printer, ink jet or laser, I don't remember which one. So check the package before you buy any to see what it recommends. Just a reminder too, if you use the Transfer Eze make sure to use colorfast thread.
Of course I had to buy something. I have always wanted to make an apple core quilt but sure didn't want to trace all those pieces so I bought the pattern,stamp and stamp pad. I also bought a graphite pencil which I can use to trace on patterns and it will wash out. I really enjoyed the workshop. I have some pieces already to sew which I will take Friday when I take my vehicle to my mechanic for some maintenance.

Some of my stitching buddies swear by Transfer-eze,,,but they caution users to make sure the embroidery floss they are using is colorfast...which hopefully was mentioned during your workshop. Some of the earlier flosses by Weeks Dye Works, gorgeous as they were, often bled onto the fabric when washed. I believe Weeks is now all colorfast as is Cosmos but it doesn't hurt to double check.
Hi Miss Carrie P, thanks for showing the Transfer ease. I have wanted to try this for my punching designs. Will have to give that a try soon, now that I know it's not gummy and sticky! Looks like you will have fun with those stamped patterns. Nice and easy!
I have always wanted to take a sewing class, I've never done one. Maybe someday! Your hand stitching just looks amazing. How do you like hand piecing your blocks?

The workshop sounds great! I have an apple core template that I bought at FMQ class in January but the stamp is also a good idea!
I love Cindy Blackberg Applecore stamp - so much easier to stamp the fabric and cut out than use a template.
I have used Transfer Eze and Sticky Solvy for printing e-patterns for embroidery. Love the convenience and I do not use a hoop with it - agree it is harder to "needle through" so a give and take. Judy C

Great recap of the fabulous workshop! Altho, I still sdvise reading the instructions, she said the transfer Eze requires a laser printer, most home printers are in jet. I was surprised when she said laser as you have to have an inkjet when doing photo transfer. I asked her to repeat herself, and then I even said it back because I was so surprised! Your work looks great. It was fun to see you. b
