This past Thursday I picked up a quilt from Laura who did the machine quilting for me. I got the binding sewed on that same afternoon.
Yesterday I spent most of the day finishing up the caulking and touching up the paint in the bathroom I mentioned in the last post. I also had to put some sealant down on the tile too.The room does not really have that yellow cast to it but I just couldn't get the photo to come out right. So the bathroom is all done except for replacing the white knobs with some satin nickle finished ones that will match the faucet at the sink. I am really pleased how the tile looks.
So last night after I finally got caught up with all my email and replying to blog comments it was 10 pm. I sewed together some green hexagons and added another flower. I am going to have to make some more green hexagons before I can add any more flowers. I am linking this hexagon to Angie's Hexie Friday. If you have a minute you should go by to see all the other wonderful hexagon projects being made by other bloggers.
So tonight I am going to see how much more of the binding I can get done on this quilt. So far I am keeping up with the sewing every day challenge even if it is a little bit of sewing.I was standing in my kitchen this afternoon when I noticed the culprit who is stealing the sunflower seeds. If you look close near the center of the photo you will see a yellow spot. That is a goldfinch. I had to zoom in. You can see what he looks like here. If you go to the link you can hear his song too. They love to pick the sunflower seeds out. See the orange and pink zinnias in the background? The goldfinch likes to pick the seeds from those flowers too. They are one of my favorite birds.

What a pretty pink hexie flower. And I enjoyed your picture of the goldfinch. I love them too. Your bathroom is very nice.
Chalk yuck, hexagons yum :) That little yellow finch is pretty tricky getting to those tasty treats through the fence. Great picture.
When you finish the binding, I hope you are going to show the quilt!! That silly little goldfinch!! Caught in the act!
It might be "nothing exciting" but you've sure been busy! Blessings, Marlene
You have been busy. Don't you just love those clips for binding. I bought a big box of them through Amazon and don't know what I would do without them. Hugs
Hi Carrie,
Your "not much" is a whole lot of work! LOL Yes, I see the little goldfinch! He knows good food when he finds it! LOL ♥♥♥
Gosh - all your home improvements are looking wonderful, Carrie. You'll be tired at the end, but so pleased with your "almost new" house! I'm surprised you've managed to fit in a little sewing too! Darn those goldfinch - they're my favorite, too, but they sure do love so much of what you plant!
Cheers!
Your garden looks so much nicer than mine. All the rain is causing mine to rot in the ground now. Thanks for the picture of the gold finch. My mom and dad got a kick out of them when they visited. The gold finches would cling to the sunroom window screens to look inside to see what was going on.
One must always expect to share with the birds!
Finishing the bathroom must have been very satisfying. The tile looks great.
I"m very familiar with thieves in the garden....one ate the tops off all our sunflowers so there are none in the garden this year.
Sewing every day, what a wonderful thing for you to have....a bit of pleasure and stitching each day.
Thanks for sharing...I'll go over and see the other hexagons too.
Smiles,
Kelly
That goldfinch is cute:) Glad you were able to get your binding on.
Binding is looking good Carrie, that's my favorite part. Your bathroom looks so pretty and fresh! Love your hexies and the sweet goldfinch, the little thief!
Seriously, Carrie, the action does not stop at your house! You're as busy as that goldfinch. :) Can't wait to see the finished quilt and I'm feeling jealous of your lovely bathroom. Congrats!
We have gold finch here too and I love both the sight and sound of them. So cheery! You are getting so much done...
Is it terrible that when I looked up the bird all I could think is ah man! We have those too! The bathroom looks great! Congratulations on getting it all finished :)
