The holidays sure can make a person feel rushed. I had a quiet Thanksgiving but Mr. P. and I have been busy with various things. I don't feel like I have spent much time in my sewing room. I thought I would show you how far I have gotten on my Christmas quilt.
I have all the half square triangles made for the last border. I also made the binding. Do you save your dog ears from your half square triangles? I put mine in a vintage jar.
I have a few more lights to prep. I also need to cut out the top part of the Christmas lights from this green fabric.

I picked up my Fat Quarter Shop Deck-Ade the Halls quilt from the long armer today...not to make and attach that binding. BUT first I have to attach the binding to my husband's Christmas quilt.
Oh, wait....what did you just say? The hurrier I go the behinder I get...yep, I'm feeling that!
'Tis definitely the season for hurriedness! But it looks like you are making progress nonetheless. Those borders are the perfect addition for framing the happy Christmas blocks. I especially love the peppermint action going on! :)

I don't save my dog ears but if I am doing a large number of HSTs I do tend to photograph them...not sure why but I do :)

My grandmother had a framed cross stitch in her kitchen with that very saying "the hurrier I go, the behinder I get." Love the lights in the border. I'm curious...do you eventually do something with the little dog ears?
Your Christmas quilt is looking fabulous! I'm on my second jar of scrap triangles from the last year and I'm planning to make a quilt from Sunday Morning quilts one day with mine - it will be so fun so see all the bits from projects.
Yes! I'm hurrying in quicksand over here -- I keep making mistakes and having to start over. I am having a mental math block trying to figure out how to convert a traditional rotary cutting block pattern so I can use my specialty HST and QST rulers but I keep cutting the strips the wrong size and then things are not fitting together properly... Then I decide to leave the sewing room and clear my head, and I walk downstairs into the tornado of boxes and half-decorated Christmas trees that I had forgotten all about. Now here we are, first Sunday in Advent and I have not finished the little runner quilt that my nativity set is supposed to go on top of, I can't find the Advent wreath to save my soul (although I did remember to buy candles for it) and I haven't packed the kids' lunches for school tomorrow. And now I have to start this block all over AGAIN... No, my Christmas quilt will not be done by this Christmas -- but YOURS is looking lovely!
I consider any progress a good thing, Carrie! Your quilt is going to be so adorable! I have been saving my dogears in vintage jars for years! It's amazing how long it takes to fill up a jar!
