Before I was consumed by the busyness of May I made these sewing kits. I won the pattern a while back and finally got around to making the pattern. It was created by Lee at MayChappell.com.
I waited to show these off to you because I was waiting on my friend, Judy, to finish weaving a new rug for me. I got the rug the other day. It is done in browns to go with my new braided rug in my morning room. She now has her sewing kit.
She has two kitties and she loves pumpkins so this fabric was perfect for her kit. I really wanted to use it on the outside of the kit but because it is a directional fabric it wouldn't work. I only had a fat quarter to work with too.

This past weekend I harvest some onions. I probably pulled them up a little too soon but I wanted to make room to plant some more seeds. I also harvested some garlic which is hanging to dry.

I really do need to make myself a sewing kit. I just finished crocheting some new cases to keep my hooks tidy, one for steels and one for aluminum. I should add sewing kits to my list of handmade gift ideas, too.
I would make at least one... and then depending on how complicated I managed to make it I might make 12 for the birthdays of the sewing circle I play with.

Actually, I've got two daughters who are no sewing fans. Yet they often complain about not having some sewing basic items, once their kids need some repairs on their clothes, etc... This would be an ideal and useful present I'd make for them ... Plus, of course, one for me :))

I first have to say what an adorable little guy and his little fishy shirt is just too cute.
The Sewing Kit pattern is one I have on my wish list of things to buy. I need one of those myself and had been thinking it would make a great gift for my MIL for Christmas. Also, I thought it would be a great thing to make for my sons. They don't sew, but occasionally they do have to sew a button on something and by having one of these handy, they'd have everything they'd need in one spot. So yes, I would definitely make more than one of these kits. Finding the time would be my biggest problem. LOL

Every year, my quilting guild has a couple of events where we each prepare a hand-made gift for our exchange. I always do a sewing theme--generally a sewing project organizer. This would be a great pattern to use for my exchanges! Thanks for sharing the pattern information too!

Thanks for letting us visit and have a chance to win something. I do a lot of hand work (applique' and embroidery) so I use sewing kits all the time.
