Many quilters have other hobbies besides making quilts. One of my hobbies is to crochet. I thought I would share what I have been doing. This first one has been challenge for me. I had to rip out the first part of this Crochet Along several times. It is an intermediate pattern. The photos and instructions are really good but I am learning new things as I crochet this one. A new set of instructions comes out every Sunday. If you want to join in you will not be far behind because this is just the second week. The mystery will be an afghan when all done. A lot of people are doing theirs in bright yarn. Even though it would be fun to do that I chose to use yarn that will go with the decor of my home. I think we all have lots of other things on the go. I don't think we would be true crafters if we didn't.I love crocheting, its so quick. I also knit and embroider. I just need more hours in a day!

I think our minds would be a little shallow if we only did one thing and I certainly don't mean to offend ANYONE by my words. I just believe in exercising our minds as much as possible and having several hobbies accomplishes that. In my opinion.

For a beginner you have amazing crochet skills. How fun to get involved in a mystery project. Your embroidery is always so lovely.
Beginner? Hardly! Just look at those patterns you are working up!! I enjoy crocheting in the evenings while I watch my one program on Netflix and have some quiet time away from the family. Then I tuck myself in for the night so I can get an early start to my day. I haven't tried anything quite so intricate! Will have to check out the Mystery! Your projects are beautiful! I downloaded Jenny's pattern and hope to get it together to contribute, too!

Your crochet is lovely, Carrie! I think it's wise to choose colors that go with your home; that way you're more likely to use the finished piece rather than using trendy colors that have to live in a cupboard somewhere because they don't go with anything!
Your crochet work is beautiful! That is something I have always wanted to learn to do. At this point I am reluctant only because I already have so many hobbies, I am feeling a need to focus. :)

Your crochet looks wonderful and although I can crochet I doubt I could tackle that one , looks very intricate . I am trying ,y hand at knitting socks for the first time , challenging for sure ;-)
My mother crocheted as did my MIL, but I never learned. And now my daughter has taken it up :-S The sage green is beautiful. Can't wait to see your project completed!
ooo - That yarn for the cowl is gorgeous :D And how funny! I just pulled that free pattern a couple days ago to start a mini quilt.
