Crochet

I am almost ready to show you the first row on my Christmas UFO. Until then I thought I would show you some crochet I have been working on. I took this with me when I went to Illinois to visit my in-laws. They don't have the best lighting to do any hand work but this would work.

I am making my self a scarf  using this variegated yarn. I just love the look so far. I have learned a new stitch  called a Bobble. It is near the bottom of the photo done up in the brown and light blue yarn. This is an "easy" pattern from the Love of Crochet magazine. (fall 2013)
I am also working on a table runner for my bed. This is a pattern from Oct. 2013 Crochet for a Quiet Evening by the Crochet magazine.
I wanted to make this in a coral yarn. I ordered some off the internet. Big mistake. It was a rust color. On my computer it looked coral and the web site even named the yarn as coral. I don't know if I will try ordering yarn off the internet anymore.

Back to sewing!

Have a good weekend. Mr. P and I will be busy raking leaves again. Will you be raking leaves too?

With Passion,
Carrie P.

Gorgeous scarf colors. I've order yarn from the internet and sent it back. What a difference a color can make based on your monitor or how they photograph it for their site. Some on line shops let you have snips of colors before making a purchase. :o) Have a great weekend.

I love your scarf colors and the stitch pattern! I quit ordering yarn online for that very reason. I want to see and feel it in person.

Your crochet work is inspirational and makes me want to find a hook! I love the scarf. I finished my ufo crochet project this year on a car trip and think I may have to organise another :-)

I love your crochet work!! I've had that problem a couple of times - red isn't always "red" on my computer - oh well - it is still lovely!!

Blessings!

Your crochet projects look lovely!! I agree, the display on screen doesn't give the right color but I order mostly on internet because there aren't good shops in the city.
I have just sown few seeds. Sowing season was in October, I am a bit late...hope they will germinate. The winters here are mild.

Gorgeous scarf, Carrie. When you embrace a new adventure, you really stick it until you've mastered the craft. I am so impressed!

What a beautiful scarf! I usually have at least one crochet project going, because that's something I can do in the car. Sorry your online purchase didn't work out.

Lovely scarf. I was going to "sweep leaves" here and at the neighbors farm (her spouse just passed away). But DH was called into work this weekend. Looks like just sewing for me.

Lovely crochet. You know there will be no leave raking or dish washing for the next 5 weeks at least....the upside to a broken ankle.

Smiles,
Kelly

I love both colors, Carrie! The scarf will go with so much, too! I've had the same problem ordering off the internet. In person is best! Mr. Squash has his Polish Leaf Raking festival about now as well!
Cheers!

Your crochet projects are beautiful! Love that rich green :) I have the same issues with ordering yarn and fabrics on the Net - sometimes they are a real disappointment when I get them. I usually don't order unless I've already seen the fabric and know what it looks like. I've only ordered yarn once, and thankfully it was exactly what I wanted :)

Ordering yarn from the internet is risky but it can also be very affordable.

Your scarf if so pretty and I really like the runner also.

No leaves to rake here :(
