The guild meeting last night was great fun. Our guest speaker was Karen Comstock. She had some great quilts. I am showing some of her applique quilts. She is a designer of her own patterns. They are so great. She brought a trunk show of some her quilts. You know it is always nicer to see them in person.
These little panels were such a neat idea. She even sells the little stands to mount the panels in them.
Last night those that are participating in the UFO challenge brought what they had done. It was fun to see. There were two people who finished their UFOs and I was one of them. We both earned 50 points. Each month the person with the most points can win a prize. Well, since there were two of us, our names were put in a drawing and I won.
This is what I won. It is wool on fabric. It is hard to read but it says dreams on it in blue. It also has little blue beads sewn on it . It was made by a former member.
Here is what my UFO list looks like. Someone asked about the process so I wanted to show you how it works. I made my list of UFOs I wanted to work on and our leader picked a number and the first number was 4 and last night she picked the number 9. 
This is what number nine looks like so far. Not much done. One block. The finished size of the quilt is 18"x 24". All I have cut out are the
background pieces. The background pieces are flannel and then the applique pieces are wool. See my stack of wool? Isn't it beautiful. I have been collecting it for several years now. Can't wait to get started on this one.

Congratulations on winning the sweet heart. It's darling! Your wool pile is wonderful and the project is going to be stunning. I know you're going to enjoy working on that one. I wish I could work with wool - sigh!
I just realized that's a "fit to frame" pattern. Yesterday I stopped by the quilt store to pick up some background fabrics and one of the ladies showed us a 'fit to frame' project that she was working on with wool. Ironic!
What an interesting way to do decide on which UFO to work on next. LOVE your stack of wool!
The quilts are gorgeous! And I might just have to make up a UFO list of my own...great idea. Also, I received my cottages yesterday and was so happy to receive one of yours with the beautiful applique'd snowman, the curtains on the window, and the window in the front door...thank you!
Congrats on your UFO progress and prize! There was NO WAY I was going to get my #4 quilted and bound before last night... and now, my #9 is hopeless to dream it could be completed in a month's time... groan.

Well it's a pretty stack of wool. and I'm sure when your done putting it all together it will be even prettier. So chop, chop!!!! I love your prize too. Very pretty.
