OBX Trip

No place like home. That is where I am at today. We got home mid afternoon on Saturday. We had lots to unpack. Less food since we ate most of it during the week. I really like to buy most of what we need at home because prices are so much more at the beach. I have a few things to share. Today I wanted to share the pictures of the lighthouses.

This is the Cape Hatteras lighthouse. We just stopped to take a picture of it so you all could see it. We have been up in it many times. This is one lighthouse that was also moved from its original site. We were fortunate to see it at the original site and now at its new one. If you want to read more about it you can go here.
We (me,my husband, and his parents) had to take a ferry to the next lighthouse which in all the years we have been going to the Outer Banks we have never visited. We had to wait for two hours to get on the ferry. Everyone waits in line with their car. It was very hot and humid but we were going to wait for the two hours which was pretty much on the dot. We drove our car on the ferry boat and took a 40 minute ride to the next island. We did enjoy the ride.
We stopped to eat some lunch at one of the many crowded restaurants. Then we went over to the Ocracoke lighthouse. Not much too it but it was neat to see. You can't go in this lighthouse.
This plague was at the lighthouse to read the history of the lighthouse.
We did visit two antique stores but didn't find anything to buy. Then it was back to the ferry landing which we only had to wait about 15 minutes to get on it this time. On our way back to the beach house I took this picture. We always get tickled when we drive past this space ship sitting in someone's yard. If you look close you can see aliens in the windows.
I will have one more post tomorrow about the trip which involves fibers and fabrics.
