Embroidery

Have you been to Aurifil Buzz yet? For 2012 Aurifil will showcase twelve designers who will share an embroidered block. The blocks will be a mystery. Aurifil has a 12 weight thread that they will be using. It is like using 2 strands of floss. Unfortunately I don't have access to the thread where I live so I used what I have on hand. I made the first block by Roseann Kermes. You know how I love birds. This was a "must do" block. I can't wait to see the other blocks as the year progresses.

With Passion,
Carrie P.

I'm a sucker for birds too! Your stitchery is lovely! I think things come out nicer when we have to make do with what we have available - Your block is now unique from everyone elses!

Great little bird block Carrie. I may try to do these too, but not right now (I'm on the road somewhere in Kansas)!

Beautiful bird, Carrie! I wish I was a snowbird right now as we have a lot of snow and I'd like to be someplace warm - lol! I adore the Aurifil 12 wt thread and use it in all my embroideries! I hope you get a chance to try it someday!
Cheers!

Beautiful! I have the block saved to maybe do. I don't have any aurifil thread so might just wait a bit before I start.

Your bird block is darling Carrie! Thanks for sharing the BOM with us.

Your stitchery is lovely Carrie. I have every color of DMC, twice or thrice over so I'll probably not invest in more threads LOL.

Little birdies get me every time! Your stitching is beautifully done! One day maybe I will be that good too. I tried a crazy quilt block at Christmas, but it didn't go as well as I had hoped... I think the fuzzy fabric did me in! Great work! Love the little fellow!

Great job Carrie. Sounds like a fun BOM. Great designers. I am still thinking about it.

I seen this block offered. Yours looks wonderful! I decided not to do this one, trying to finish a few projects.

Such a sweet little bird! Maybe if I start finishing some things, I can join in on some of the embroidery fun. :)

What a darling little bird. And what fun in doing a mystery BOM. I have not seen any Aurifil 12 weight thread. I must look for it.
